Why do women hate it when a guy says "you'll never find a guy better than me" or some variation of it?

I've heard more than one woman say on this site that it annoys them when guys say this. Why? I mean if you know he's not right why would it matter? Is it him saying that? Is it the relationship has ended and you have enough doubts already you don't need him adding to them? Or is it that you're bothered by him insinuating at this point he knows what's best for you. Or is it just the insinuation. That you somehow peaked with him?

I guess some men do not accepting that the woman belongs to God and not to them. I met 3 that thought they had the authority to punish me because I rejected their desire to date me and they were enraged at me for not communicating my disinterest earlier in the talking stage. These men want to play God and demand exclusivity from somebody who has shown an active refusal for further dialogue.

It’s expressing how low you think of her and how arrogant he is to think there could possibly be no one out there better than him for her. Even if you are a great person, you just weren’t their person

I can see how it CAN be perceived that way. But it's also possible that he knows her and her history. And knows what he brings to the table and based on all the information he has he knows she's unlikely to do better.
You never felt that way about a guy who thought he could do better than you?
Back to my point though if she knows he's wrong why get mad about it?

He may know he history but it’s sort of verbally abusive to say in that context too. It’s best to just say I hope you get who you want or I hope you who you deserve.

No likes being manipulated nor feel worthless of love. Honestly, someone that says ''You'll never find anyone better than me/as good as me'' is likely a narcissist. It's really them considering you so low. They want you to see them as the only option you have and that's just wrong. A normal person would never feel the need to brag about how good they are; the actions would show over time.

After women hit their forties, menopause diminishes their looks, so if a gal is nearing that age, unless she's a stunner (few are), she's trying to keep her guy from looking for greener (and hotter) pastures. Of course, if she IS hot and/or young, she may know of which she speaks.
