Why do men lie and exaggerate to a woman?

Why do women ACCUSE men of lying when they never did? What do YOU get out of it? My only conclusion is that she never really loved him at all and is making up excuses to break up with him!! WHY go to all the trouble? Just go up to him, flat out tell him, "I think we should break up.", give him your reasons and if no meeting of the minds occurs, where you can sort out the "problems" and MAYBE NOT break-up, JUST LEAVE! NO need for all the drama and bullshit!! What's the point of all the games? You said your piece, you both can't make ends meet, say goodbye!!
If it's just a case of, "I just don't love you anymore.", just TELL HIM THAT! SURE, it WILL break his heart but, isn't that a LOT easier than to accuse him of things he never did? Unless you're too much of a coward and you want HIM to do the breaking up so, you get HIM pissed enough at YOU so HE breaks up and that lets YOU off the hook!!
I just lost what I thought was a REALLY great relationship last week because, somehow, SHE got it in her head that I'd been lying to her!! I HADN'T!!! But, no matter WHAT I SAID or HOW MUCH I could prove that I didn't, it wasn't good enough for her!!! It wasn't bad enough that she accused ME of dastardly deeds I never did, the kind that can completely ruin someone's life but, she was thoroughly convinced that I have 2 s/n's here (which I don't!!) and went so far as to accuse that other guy of the same bullshit!! If anybody that actually mattered saw that accusation upon him, it could've SEVERELY fucked over the life of an innocent man!!! It was an EXTREMELY STUPID, SELFISH and CHILDISH thing to do to him!!! AND to me!!! It's BAD ENOUGH that she did it to me but, to do it to a TOTAL STRANGER is BEYOND the limit!!! It's akin to falsely accusing someone of rape!!! She AT LEAST owes HIM an apology!!! I don't much give a rat's ass if I get one! It SURE WOULD BE NICE but, I'm NOT holding my breath in hopes of getting one!! She probably doesn't even have the balls to give HIM one!! "Why can't you take ownership of your mistakes?" she asks me!! She should take a look in a mirror and say that!!!
WHY is it perfectly fine for HER to lie but NOT for him?
If she WANTS to break up with him, JUST BREAK THE FUCK UP!!! HOW HARD IS THAT?

I think a lot of men believe that they need to outdo the women they have a crush on, such as outearning them in terms of money. So they try to lie about it in the hopes of attracting their crushes. This might work in the short them, but they will very likely be found out, and once they do, their crushes leave them and no longer want anything to do with them anymore.

Only if you find out. I told a woman who had traveled the world that I had been to Spain just to impress her. She never found out that I have never even been outside of the United States other than Canada.

It might have been different if she asked you where in Spain you went to or elaborated more on how your trip went. I just don’t understand why men tell little white lies or he exaggerates with what he says when I know the truth
