Not so much to using it, but having it, yes.

The weirdest thing is I am old enough to basically remember when society shifted from a phonecall meaning you called someone's house number and when it all just began to mean a buzzing in your pocket.

In my memory, the world was much more free before you were available nonstop to anyone and everyone. Its a little like we're all wearing a leash now. An incredible, handy, and fancy leash but still a leash.

Of course my experience is highly biased because I was a kid with 0 concerns. Phones became standard and suddenly around the same time, I had to start worrying about things like my parents knowing where I was when I'd rather they did not.

So to anyone up on me with 10 or more years. What was it like before? Have we lost or gained personal freedom? Do you miss it when leaving the house meant no one could reach you until you wanted them to?

Oh I am not disagreeing but you were what... 12-13 when iphones came around? I just mean we're in the same shoes here of never having lived anything close to adulthood without them.

I got my first phone at 16 but it didn't have anything. Just texting and calling. My second phone at 18 had YouTube and other apps. So I didn't grow up with phones.
I'm just glad we didn't have high tech phones when I was young and I'm glad I had a normal childhood. I see babies at grocery stores with their phones. It's ridiculous.
