When I grew up 🤳🏻 📱 these were only just coming onto the shelves. Aka mid 2007 to late 2007.

Then forward to 2009 ⏩ more popular then by 2012 / 2015 it was unmissable 🧿🤳🏻📱photo sourced from internet

Thoughts? Personally I sometimes still could pick up a dumb phone aka a basic phone with a keypad, no touch screen, and have zero issues. Why? For as long as internet services on a desktop laptop, ATMs, payphones, and options for hardcopy still all exist - life can still be loved and lived with non smartphone. Beauty of no socials either besides call or SMS text. 📱 Or 📞 doesn't have the U shape. Lol.

Really folks should always be given a dumb phone as their first phone

Nowadays everyone gets a smartphone (from their parents) the moment they hit 10 or 13

I still use / still own a dumb phone, modern.

I use both (or I seldom use my smart, or vice versa the dumb is a backup)

Aka the smartphones were just coming online around 2007 to 2008 and fliphones were competing still with dumb candy bar shaped dumb phones with or without cameras in the back of dumb or flip phones phones

I've had a range of cell phones / mobile phones devices since I was 13 in 2007 all those years ago.

Yes, I own such a phone manufactured in 1997 I believe, before I was even born.

I have no need for a smartphone since I seldom call people and when I call, it is only to call my parents. I so seldom text that it is like a new learning curve each time I do. Pressing 3 times one key to make one letter. It takes ages to write a short text.

I don't surf the internet, don't take pictures and don't spend hours on end on that phone. Why should I even want a smartphone?

The only problem is that the 2G network will be decommissioned sometime next year and that I will no longer be able to use it. My next phone will still be a dumb phone but a more modern one that works on the 3G network.

I remember dumb phones too 😅 answerer in poll. Preferably the dumb phones of 2000s/2010s. It's good they still exist even as 3G or as 4G dumb phones

i remember getting a phone way after they came out. it was a phone mp3 player. but i remember a friend who had a blackberry when they came out. i think the big thing was that they could text, but only other blackberries? don't know.

but no. the bottom line is what i get, so they give me that but it's still a smartphone
