You can still buy them here and brand new ones, mainstream even, Nokia, HMD.
I think it was a lovelier time.

I don't. I just miss how much more "present" people were prior to all the texting. I still remember the sidekicks back in 2008
Indeed. I miss them though. The only benefits I see to smartphones is the ease of technology (I need a map, I need a camera, I need quick Google answers) all in my hand. With wifi or mobile data though hahahaha. Though I miss dumb phones sort of like you do, yet also because "I mean the dumb phones looked hotter" π€
@red324
People paid more attention and put more effort in their social interactions with others. Friendships were more close knit. People didn't treat each other as if they were disposable and can be traded for someone else easily
Lol my dad has that Nokia flip phone 😅
Why is it so expensive 😱
@queenofcardio P. S. tell him to consider embracing the non-flip. Kind of like the good old times. The just stationary candy bar. Bright colours still or HMD Nokia.
@queenofcardio I'm so tempted for years now to just go back to the dumb phone and restructure my life ππ₯³
Haha the flip phone is easier for him to navigate. The buttons are bigger and the screen can be zoomed in. It's easier for him to see it that way.

What you call DUMB PHONES are actually SMART PHONES & what people call SMART PHONES are actually DUMB PHONES. As for me I grew up in the landline times & I grew up in a world where people actually interacted with each other.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/LRrd5KZvgLAIβm so glad I still use a flip phone because I donβt want to become a zombie.
I've lived through the evolution of phones. From rotary dial party-line land line to pulse dialing land line to the original cellphone (weighed a few pounds) to flip phones to smart phones. Each was good at the time. Today's smartphones are the highest technology, but cause their own problems (ex: distracted driving).
Do I miss the old dumb pho9nes? No.
But let's all realize that today's smartphone is a tool; it does not make a dumb person smart.
And vice versa - it's a tool
That's why I don't personally believe the A. I. hype - it's only a tool or an added tool -
There certainly are some advantages to smart phones but I think most of us have allowed ourselves to become far too dependent on them.
Just look at all those real still for sale 2026 phones - do you still see such a catalogue in person at select stores? Or nah. All π±π±π±?
i had a Motorola. I had a plan where I worked and I paid 10 bucks a month. after a few years I traded it in for a flip phone when I could not get a battery for it.
Smartphones are for dumb people.
I only have a flip phone. I've never had a smartphone. They mostly add stress to people's lives. They are for cheaters, and people that are lazy and want to avoid doing their jobs when at work.
I am still using one of those old dumb phones. When it quits working I may move up to something a little newer.
I miss having a real keyboard, had a slide phone that had a keyboard that I loved. I have fat thumbs and this virtual keyboard is bullshit
Yesss. I miss them.
@jeff51 me too Jeff. Me too. Yet at the same time if I wouldn't be here I'd be on the web otherwise πΈοΈ or slow to reply. Lol i would only check my emails once or twice a day if we didn't have smartphones.
Jeff you're so right - so right πβΆοΈ
Yeah I'm thinking of going back
Not so much
