Why does he ghost me than randomly talk to me again?

So this guy well call him red for this well talk for weeks on end and on call once he was talking about how he is in a relationship and than asked me how I am after I explained how I am in a Rs he said that he likes those things all of the sudden. And when I started my new job we can't call as much but we still texted back and forth but all of the sudden he became really distant and rarely text me anymore and when he does it's always blunt. Recently, he just texted me when he's high and more closed off and tends to respond late or not at all I'm not sure what this means I just took it as he doesn't want to talk to me anymore. Since he knows I've liked him for a little bit now and he stated that he's not ready for that stuff because he enjoys his freedom flirting with people and couldn't give me a definitive answer. So, really, I'm asking if should I wait or should I move on? (I apologize if this doesn't make sense and seems like a ramble)

This guy is probably just as confused as you are.

He was in a relationship and I presume it did not end too well. He took a beating and now is not interested in getting his fingers burned another time, at least not immediately.

He looks like he does not really know himself how to behave or he does not have his act together. He could also have been fed up or not found anything new to say and that would explain why he is spacing his texts.

He likes flirting with other girls and that is obviously the doing of a player. You best option here is to take your distance from him because he is totally unreliable.

Move on, dump him. Don't waste your time. What if you are with him for 10 year's and he's still " not ready ".. then what... 🤔

It’s not how normal people operate in fact it’s how a lot of narcissists are I would just cut contact narcissists need supply. They don’t want to let someone just move on or break contact normally by just expressing they are loosing interest. It keeps control over someone as well as gives them options if something or another doesn’t work out

You should definitely move on.. It doesn't seem like he wants to put in any effort to pursue you.. If he knows you like him, and is still hesitant, you definitely don't wanna continue wasting your time on him..
