Why would he ghost me only sometimes?

I met this guy three years ago, and I really liked him. We were very close friends. He moved to a different state for the past two years but now he's back. I still like him - a lot. We both have each other on snapchat but he does this weird thing. One week he ghosts me completely, only doing streaks. Then the next he's sending me videos and snapping me every few seconds. Then it's back to the ghosting and we start over again. Last night he left me on opened and then screen recorded all our chats. The only two possibilities I can think of is that he's confused how he feels or that he's playing me. Why is he doing this?

I don't necessarily think it automatically means he is playing you. My guess is he gets bored and then decides hey might as well contact my friend. He isn't even really ghosting you. Ghosting means breaking all contact, blocking or otherwise never communicating with you again. He keeps coming back so that really isn't ghosting. It is just him being random. I wouldn't think too much into it. I'm only going to assume that he is also under 18 like you are and that maybe the problem is awkwardness after being away for a couple of years. That could explain a lot. He wants to get back to the way things were but doesn't really know how to do it so he makes awkward attempts to reach out and make conversation. That's just one possibility.

He might be playing you — which you can spot from how th wrest of his media looks… all (or mostly) female followers, comments, etc.

But he might also just be busy some weeks/days… And you should just ask him.

Guys dont overthink this in the same manner as you do , he contacts you when there is something to tell , when there is not he stops , you are young thats great , but its really pretty simple , he is young also , just roll with it , he doesn't mean to upset you.
