I dont think my boyfriend likes when I call him?

So for context he texts me through the day and send me tiktoks or Instagram reels and stuff. He gets up pretty early for work since be runs his own buisness and gets home late something but most days he's home early hopefully. I few months back I asked if we could take a break from having sex I wasn't feeling well in my mental state so I just wanted a short break is all. He got pretty upset and asked me what is his purpose if we don't have sex and whatever, I wasn't sure how to answer so I said we can do other stuff and he says he's gonna try something if I'm close and he's gonna be rejected and he feels pretty crappy. So it's bee. 3 months since then. I normally call him when he gets home and is in need he answers even tho he is tired. But he makes like remarks saying I keep him up tho he is to be up early , I told him he could just lay there and I'll be background noise he says no cause I require a response. So I'd talk he'd give the occasional hmm or okay so I know he's listening until he falls asleep. but today he brought up y I don't call my bestfriend at night since she works from home from 2 to 11 and if she can't make time to talk to me. I explained she can't answer as she has to answer calls for work and she's tired. He then said I can under that my friend is tired and has work but I can't understand that he is. I said I do he said I don't so I suggested I just hang up and let him sleep. I just prefer calls than texts. He then says it's fine cause he doesn't wanna hear about this a few days later then I'll say I don't wanna call him after that. i said okay I went quiet he asked y I wasn't talking then I started talking. His wifi started acting up and the call ended. I waited for him to call me back. I texted him to ask if his wifi was dating up. He said yes and responded to the text. I don't know y he didn't just call me back. So I just went offline all I asked for were 15 minutes of call time a day and he complains it goes over 15 minutes.
