Should I call my boyfriend?

Yesterday, my boyfriend got mad at somehing I said. Later that day, I asked why he got mad. He did not answer. The next day he texted me if he owed me any money and that he feels uncomfortable that I always pay for the things we do. I replied and we texted for a while. And that was it. Normally, he calls me everyday but for the last 2 day he hasn't called me once. Should I call him or should I give him some space?

Well start off by asking how he is. Then say “hey, I’d really want to talk about this. If you’re not ready now, let me know when you’re ready. I don’t want any issues between us, so when you’re ready to talk more, let me know.”

Back when we weren't dating he told me that he was not over his ex. Naturally, I asked him whether he was trying to fill the gap she left with me. He explained that he is not trying to do such thing. Then he asked me where this came from and I reminded him the thing that he said. He got mad and left.

Yeah, pretty good chance that relationship is over. Especially since he asked if he owes you any money. I can't give a good answer on whether or not you should call him, because he's likely either staying away to see if he misses you, or seeing if you'll put in the effort to make amends.

update: I called him and we made up. follow up question though: how does him asking me if he owes me any money correlate with his relationship with his ex? also thank you for your answer it really comforted me.
