Okay, my boyfriend wants me to call him "dad". I really don't get it. We've been together for a while now and he keeps insisting but I'm confused. What's the deal with this? Is it a power issue or some kind of perversion? Guys, why do you want your girlfriend to call you that? Should I just keep going or is this a red flag?

You should ask him why he wants you to call him “Daddy” and insist you want to make him comfortable in the relationship though find this a weird request.
Tell him you love him and are up for anything, though need clarification / transparency so you aren’t pressured into doing something you aren’t comfortable with. A ‘heads up’ would be nice, tell him that please.

This is a common natural fantasy related to domination. And it's not only men. It's not uncommon for women women to want to be dominated and using this word for their man is an example of that dynamic. It's common in many cultures... For example.

"Papi" is a Spanish word that translates to "daddy" or "papa" in English. It can be used as a term of endearment, similar to "buddy" or "my man," and is often used in a romantic or sexual context. It's also a common way for children to refer to their father."

I think it would be best to understand why he wants you to call him that, if it's a kink or a pet name or maybe a insecurety of his. But no matter what the answer to that question is if you don't feel comfortable with it tell him that in a explicit way. I hope he understands and respects it if he doesn't it's not a healthy relationship. (if you like it just go with it)

7 dI kinda see it as a power dynamic. I use it with my boyfriend when I want him to take control. It doesn't mean I want anything to do with my real father. To me, it's cuter than saying something like master or something lol

Ugh I have occasionally had girlfriend who call me daddy or poppy when they are frisky. Expect me to reach positive to this. Not me gives me an ick. Obviously they have had positive feedback from guys. Plus porn tends to lead you to believe it's a sexual turn on for a lot of guys. Since it's used so frequently. I'm with you tho not my thing.

"Ewe!", said the middle-aged man with two daughters.
There are numerous monikers I'd rather NOT be called. This one, by any other than my children, and certainly during moments of sexcapades tops the list! Red flag if you are questioning it, and he keeps pressing it. That's two triggers on a shotgun loaded with a buckshot of failure.
That said, my wife jokingly refers to me as sugar-daddy on occasion, but I dont really think this falls close to being the same.

I don't understand either. But one time I was talking to a girl I met on a Christian Social Networking Site, she wanted to call me "Daddy". I was confused by this. Especially because of where I met her. We didn't talk for very long, before losing connection.

A lot of guys want you to call them daddy. It doesn’t mean a literal incest fantasy. Just means she’s submissive to him in bed. I don’t care for it much, but it’s no big deal.

I never like it, I acknowledge some couples do that in the various words of mouth in my lifetime thus far however , like others I do cringe and find it - odd.

Still have given you none-the-less you a thumbs up 👍🏻

The other annoying one in a lot of PornHub videos and pop culture "come baby" - urgh 🫢 gripe

Some people associate the term "daddy" with dominance, protection, or a nurturing role in a relationship—it’s more common in certain kinks or dynamics, like BDSM, but not always. It doesn't mean he literally wants to be seen as a father figure; it's usually about power play or feeling wanted in a certain way. That said, if it makes you uncomfortable or you're unsure, it's totally okay to talk to him about it and set your boundaries. Communication is key in any relationship.

In contrast to various interpretations already written here, i think he imagines himself a father and hinting he might propose marriage.
But i wouldn't want that word.

Ask him. You two should be able to have this kind of conversation.

Some guys really like it, I think it's a power thing. I don't mind doing it but it's rare for me

If you’re uncomfortable don’t. It sounds like a Incest fetish and is really weird when people do that.

I guess he wants you to do the incest role-play. If you love your boyfriend, do not refuse his request. For example, I also enjoy using the word 'uncle.' I think you should not worry about it so much.

I mean, I assume it's a sex thing.
It's probably harmless, as long as he's not making you dress up in little girl outfits and pigtails.

10 Reply"Daddy" in the sack is something I can see someone saying justifiably. That doesn't sound weird to me. "Dad" as an everyday thing is weird though.

It is his kink. Personally I am NOT a fan of it in the least. Whether it is a red flag or not is for you to decide. Frankly, it is a turn off even when jokingly being called, “dad/daddy”. No thanks.
00 Reply I find that gross and have asked my wife not to do that

As a father the slightest hint of that is pedophilic and disgusting
Thats not a kink. He should be punished for being a pedophile - 6 d
But how is that pedophile wheres the logic in this thing? millions of adult woman calling their boyfriend daddy... how is that pedophile? ever heard of ddlg?

I get it. Your a pedophile. You want to fuck child girls. We all see it.

How I want to fuck child? in bdsm community calling the guy partner daddy totally common while the girl partner is adult... how they are pedophile? now calling girlfriend baby isn't pedophile? stupid logic...
