Weirded out by men?

Hey! So, I’ve got the biggest baby face. Every time I look in the mirror, I see how innocent I look. I am 24 though. From high school til now, guys have been interested in me. People about my own age, the same age as me and older than me. I feel so creeped out by everyone because of this. Yes, I’m quite developed physically, but all guys seem to be into how ”cute” I look. It makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like people have pedophilic intentions towards me. Is this true?

First it is extremely perverse of you to reject men because they find your face cute and attractive.

But there is truth in men finding female baby faces attractive for evolutionary reasons. Female faces are more child like. Eyes are bigger relative to the face than with men.

From the tribe perspective it is advantageous that men feel a strong compulsion to protect women and children. A trigger for that appears to be a baby face. Saves synapses if the same circuits covers both women and children. More efficient.

Of course too, the younger you look, the more fertile you look and men who found granny's sexy quickly left the gene pool. No surprise that men from 8 to 80 like 20-25 yo females most.

Simple fact is that in Cleopatra's day girls were married at first menses. Life was too short to leave it longer. Most men died in their 20's and most women were dead by 35.

Societal rules exist to countermand evolutionary instincts. You should rest content with that and not impute motivations that don't exist to men. At 24 you are fair game.

No, that's not pedophilia. They may be attracted to your youthful appearance, but that's not pedophilia. Pedophilia is an attraction to prepubescent children and it's quite rare. Ephebophilia is an exclusive attraction to sexually mature teens, with emphasis on exclusive. Almost anyone who finds us attractive is going to be attracted to some particular aspect of our appearance -- our hair, our youthfulness, our physique, our face, something. That is just the start of attraction. We may like someone's appearance, but as we get to know them it's more about their character.

Sorry, that sounded unintentionally critical. I didn't read carefully enough. I agree with you that uninvited comments on your face or any aspect of your physical appearance are creepy, or at best impolite and a sign of poor manners.

Like, you might be seeing yourself younger than other people do.

It's definitely not a pedophilia thing because, as disgusting as this makes me feel to say, pedophiles usually care more about the fact that children are distinctly undeveloped. So if you have a developed and clearly mature body, a pedophile is going to be less interested. I learned this studying criminal psychology. A lot of pedophilia is actually more about the fantasy, and less about the physical. So, you having a developed body ruins the fantasy.

Yes, I’m aware that pedophiles go for children who haven’t reached puberty. However, when people tell me I look so young in the face, it creeps me out, especially since a lot of people seem to be into that.

I get that. But also we do live in a society that seems to prioritize youth as an inherently desirable quality. The amount of products in the market directed at women claiming to make them look younger is staggering. The pressure that society puts on us to look young is so huge they made a ridiculously effective horror movie about it recently. Lol

So it could be that these people are just trying to compliment you by saying you look young. Hell, one of the lines guys say when meeting their girlfriends mother's is the classic "Whoa! I didn't know you had a sister!"

We're programmed to think looking young is inherently one of the best things you could get from your genetics.

Also though, I'm not trying to devalue your feelings on it. I'm not in your position, so I don't know how they're saying these things. If you feel creeped out that's fair.

I'm just trying to offer an alternative so maybe you don't have to feel creeped out.

Yes, I get what you mean to say. It’s honestly hard for me to know what to feel. Of course I’m flattered that people like me, but my experience has been that people look down on me at the same time in some sense.

I don’t think it’s true… men are into cute looking women but that doesn’t necessarily mean mean they are pedophiles…. I mean looking cute doesn’t mean to look below age

If an adult then it is time to face that you are an adult and liking you is not creepy. Bit awkward using cute as a negative as it tends to be the go-to first feeling to describe someone you like visually.

Of course I do not look like a child in the body. However, my face is very childish. One guy I dated before compared me to an actual child, that I was cute like her. This is what makes me wonder.

What I think about is that pedophilia is not just limited to liking prepubescent children, as girls can mature pretty fast at a young age, but they are still not grown ups.
