I mostly wonder if you say something like that to a woman, is it just a way of saying you find her physically attractive or does it go any deeper than looks? I was told that by a guy who made it very clear who is physically attracted to me, but I wonder if there's any point in hoping for anything more than casual/sexual relationship?

It's not inherently romantic if that's what you're asking. If you're interested in him romantically you really should just have that conversation with him and see where he's at.

It depends on the context. Men will, almost, always say what they think the woman wants to hear. Don't take it too seriously.
