Why Don't Male YouTubers Get More Personal?

So me and my husband watch very different creators on YouTube. He watches videos about cars and investing. I watch life style vloggers and beauty gurus.

I noticed that the channels he watches are always content first. They never cry on camera or talk about their struggles. I guess it makes sense. Men don't like to get vulnerable in general.

It's just I feel like they could make a lot more money if they fostered a para-social relationship with their fans. I love it when guys get emotional lol.

For one men don’t want to get on forums like YouTube to watch men cry. If I’m being honest a lot of men would say what a bitch. Two when men have issues, we usually don’t cry, we look for a solution. So a lot of the videos we watch are about solutions, fixing things, making ourselves better. Men are more likely to try to fix things, including their partner’s problems. Also growing up as a man you understand no one is coming to save you. You’re either going to cry, stick in that mode for however long or figure a way out of it. Men don’t run home to daddy the way women can, not all but a lot of women still rely on their dads. Yes some boys rely on their mothers too. But for women it’s usually socially acceptable for her to move back home, to depend on her parents. Men, it’s looked down upon. Some may not even consider you a man if you can’t take care of yourself. The other thing is a lot of women tend to not be attracted to a may when he cries. Most of you say you it wouldn’t bother you but you don’t know that till it happens, depending on the context of why he’s crying. It’s like all these “icks” women have that they don’t know they have till it happens. There’s a lot of pressure put on men by other men, women, society in general when it comes to things like this. For myself, as a man who hasn’t cried since maybe I was 18, I’m just like this from years of being this way. Does it bother me that I can’t be emotional? No. I actually like it better cause it makes me do something to change whatever situation I’m in then to cry.

Generalizationly speaking women like drama so naturally like the vulnerable and emotions. Men don't seek drama, quite the opposite so we seek informational or outright silly because the rest of world is already so messed we seek to find peace through things we enjoy and take our minds off of serious things. Women do to, but they enjoy drama as it relaxing I guess.

You answered your own question. They don't want to be vulnerable. Most people in the society treat women with kindness if they get emotional but in many cases they're not as kind or sympathetic.

Growing up many guys were made to believe that "Men don't cry. You just suck it up or shake it off and have few drinks to forget about it" Many of their young guy friends back then even made fun of them for talking about their feelings and sharing things they found disturbing (one of my close guy friend shared that). So, they grow up thinking "if I become vulnerable or cry I won't be looked at with respect. They'd think I'm weak" They rarely ever let them see emotional side to only close people/someone they trust instead

Also, many guys don't exactly have emotional burden or something that would make them want to cry and be vulnerable. Those youtubers might be doing alright they've got nothing to share with you and cry about.

What is astonishing is how people still watch total throwaway garbage when there is so much quality content on YouTube. What attracts people to utter bollocks is a mystery.

I'm not sure how anyone would ever WANT Youtubers to talk about themselves or start crying on camera. I only watch comedy gaming videos and I instantly dislike any video where they just talk about feelings. I'm not there for feelings. I'm there to watch them do stupid shit in games.

They don't need to cry or share their hardest struggles. Most of the women creators I follow don't do that. Not everyone has to be Trisha Paytas lol. I'm talking about any vulnerability a simple life update video. Rambaling, a get ready with me. A video where they are just talking to the camera like they are talking to a friend. From what I can see guy Youtubers paint them selves into a niche. They are the car guy, or the stock guy. And they stay in that little box. It's boring.

My husband doesn't take as long as I do, that's fair, but he sends a few minutes in there. He shaves, moisturizes uses hair jell and a few other things
