How to know if your flat mate who is a cancer likes you back?

a guy moved into the house I am living in about 4 and half months back. He is a Cancer. He said he is not looking for any relationship right now as he is focusing on his job. He goes to gym regularly and its his routine. We have become very good friends. For the last one year, wherever I was, I always had my groceries and other bills separate. But with him, we are sharing everything, from toothpaste till eggs in the fridge. I used to hate sharing my personal stuff and am very territorial about them, but with him I want to share all my stuff and infact I am feel dejected if he doesn't use my stuff. I am his only friend right now here after him moving to this country. He has friends back in our home country, but when I asked him to make friends here as it will be difficult, he was like I can be alone and its not a problem for me. I literally am his only friend and was actually worried about him. he is very goofy, chill and extremely funny person. He says he is not looking for a relationship, but sometimes behaves too caringly towards me, and I don't know how to tell if he is flirting with me or not. Cuz the jokes he cracks are a lot sexual or double meaning dark jokes. He fed me food with his hands when I felt really sick and was unable to lift my hands. We were going out to roam, so when I asked him a few times he even put nailpolish on my fingers as I was not able to put for one of my hands neatly. He never lets me lift the grocery bags, and I am a bit broke from a couple of months as I left my job at the restaurant I was working due to facing sexual harrasment. He always paid for the groceries and I am about 300$ in debt to him and he never even asked once. I always remind him, and he scolds me and says "did I ever ask you? If you have give or else I am paying right now. dont worry" I cook everyday for him, and solved some issue he was facing at his gym. He loves my cooking and always praises whatever i cook. But he keeps his distance too. Give me some advice.
