Guy, have you ever been chivalrous? Does it make you feel more masculine?

I think its so attractive when men come to the aid of women. I know it might seem silly but those are my standards for the men I would choose to date or marry. Someone who'll carry me to bed when I'm not feeling well, and I would take care of them too. Men who see a woman struggling and comes to her aid, like a knight in shining armor. I know that some men will comment that women have been rude to them after helping out, but there are women out there who see that character as husband material. I want a man who makes me feel feminine, small things such as zipping my dress up or tying my heel straps. This type of man is who I see myself building a life with and be willing to have kids with ( I'm terrified of pregnancy and giving birth ).

It doesn’t make me feel masculine. I don’t need to do certain things to make me feel masculine. This is just what I am as a man if that makes sense. It’s stuff that was instilled in me from other men in my life growing up. So like someone else said you either do it or you don’t do it. It’s not really a feeling. Again it’s just who I am as a man. Yes I have always done things like that for my wife of 17 years like opening the door for her, letting her go first or ordering first, sometimes I even order for her as she tells me what she’d like to eat. When I drop her off wherever I always park the car then walk inside to help her w her things. It’s a state of being, doing one thing doesn’t make you masculine if you’ve never been like that all your life.

I feel like being chivalrous isn't something you do periodically. It's either something you are, or you're not.

That being said, I do feel as though I'm a chivalrous guy. I open the door for a lady, pull out her chair for her, take care of her when she's not feeling well, carry things for her, etc. It's just the type of guy I've always been.

I show basic respect and consideration for others, regardless of gender. It doesn't make me feel masculine, I just don't want to be an asshole.

I enjoy trying to be chivalrous. It doesn’t make me feel more masculine, but I don’t act chivalrous in pursuit of such feelings. I just want to be a good person.

I would always try and be like that with a women I have romantic interest in. Strangers are a different story.
