Is being called cute a sympathy compliment?

Long story short Ig, this is sorta like a online dating type question. I met this guy and he has been pretty keen from the start but we hadn't shared pictures or anything at first. We talked and have had great conversations, he's very funny.

Fast forward, we finally show each other pictures of ourselves and he initially just said "aawe you're cute :3" just like that was his exact message

He's still seeming very keen and chatting to me a lot, but this is a specific just simple compliment I've gotten a good amount of time. I don't think I'm ugly by any means, but personally I'd describe myself as fairly plain and unmemorable, which I suppose isn't too bad

It just made me wonder if the compliment is sincere, or like what really is a guy thinking when he politely calls a girl "cute" ?

No. I'm a guy. I've been in a few conversations about women with other guys. Cute, nice looking, hot, gorgeous, and pretty can all be interchangeable. One word isn't necessarily better than the other in our minds. It depends on the guy and the moment. Don't read too much into it.

Cute - Could mean super attractive in a wholesome, girl next door, take her home to meet your mom, marriage material sort of way. I does not mean she doesn't provoke all sorts of filthy thoughts about the bedroom, LOL.

Nice Looking - see definition for cute.

Hot - A woman who overtly dresses to show off her body and her sexuality. She has "IT" and she knows it. Provokes all sorts of thoughts about things you'd like to do in bed. Does not mean she isn't girlfriend or marriage material. But she scares a lot of guys into paralysis, LOL.

Pretty - See all of the above. Depends on the guy making the comment and the atmosphere the conversation is taking place in.

Gorgeous - Very pretty.

Like I said, don't read too much into it. It really depends on the language habits of the guy and the conversation where he's making the comment. That probably isn't the simple set of rules you were looking for but the truth is "it depends".

Ok so here’s the thing…. There are gorgeous women (few and far between)
Glamorous women (also not that common)
Beautiful women (more common)
Cute women (also more common)
And butt ugly women (most common… like flies on a dead carcass)


If I had my choice I would take the cute girl every time. The gorgeous and glamorous women require too much work to keep themselves that way.
The beautiful woman can have natural beauty. But the problem with the beautiful woman is that every guy‘s gonna want her.
The cute girl is cute even without makeup, she’s the girl next-door type and really the most desirable.
So understand cute is a very big compliment.

i feel like if he’s still really keen and still chatting with u then he was prolly being sincere!!😊😊 i don’t think it makes sense that he would give u a fake compliment (if he didn’t think u were cute) and then still be really keen to chat with u🤔🤷🏻‍♀️


also i don’t really think guys call girls cute when they don’t mean it? do they?🤷🏻‍♀️ in my experience men are generally more direct, but this is just my interpretation im not exactly an expert on the male psyche lol😅😂
