What’s the difference between a guy who values/cherishes you vs a guy who only likes you/your attention?

I feel like I’ve really longed for the first category of men all my life, but only ever met men in the second category, who only wanted my attention/ lusted after my body.
If I were to meet a man like the first category, how would I know? How do they treat you differently?

The one that cherishes and values you will see through your imperfections and mistakes, but he will still view you in high regard. He would try and understand situations from your perspective. He puts you and your relationship above all else.
