I dont know what's up with him?

I met a guy on a dating app, and after a month of talking, he came to see me one night after work. We hooked up, but during the movie he seemed distant, and after sex I drunkenly told him I loved him. He said, “I’m not there yet, maybe if we keep this up.” Then he rushed to leave. I felt used, but he texted me when he got home, and we spoke later. I told him the “I love you” was just the alcohol and really, I just had a crush. He said we both liked each other, but since I lived “too far” (only 1.5 hours away), we should date closer to home.

I asked him to come over later that week, and he gave excuses about his kids. I told him he replied too late and I already had plans. He said, “Damn, that fast huh?” and I replied, “You snooze, you lose.”After that, he kept texting here and there and watching my Snapchat stories.

I faked an outing in his city on my story to challenge his “too far” excuse, and he viewed until the last one that mentioned his city. After that, he stopped watching. I called him; he didn’t answer but texted that he picked up another shift and would call later. He did, briefly, but said he’d call the next day. He never did. Days went by, and I asked him to call before work — he agreed but didn’t follow through, though he kept watching my stories.

Finally, I messaged asking what was going on. He said he didn’t want a long-distance relationship, that I was sweet and genuine, and hoped I’d find my person. I said that was a weak excuse but fine, and he apologized. I unfriended him and deleted everything.

I posted gym pics, and the very next day he posted too — an old vacation pic and a video drinking/smoking. That was 3–4 weeks ago. He hasn’t posted since, still follows me, but hasn’t seen my stories or reached out. I even texted once saying I still think of him; hours later he viewed my stories, but not since.

Now I’m left confused — if he doesn’t want me, why is he still following me?
