Guys, Is it normal for a guy to stack up money before he hangs out with or sees a girl?

Is it normal for a guy to stack up money before he hangs out with or sees a girl, and have you felt this way or felt like you needed to and why? Or was it just an excuse?

He's trying to buy a feeling of being 'born.' He feels incomplete, spiritually poor, and tries to make up for it by buying things. He wants to feel whole, like he's a 'full man,' but he can't do it through spiritual work, so he looks for a shortcut. It's a deep, hidden hunger for a spiritual state, and he's trying to fill it with material things. He's trying to buy himself into a state he can't achieve himself.

Nope, I did a pretty good job of hiding it.

That way I knew they liked me for who I was, not what I had.

It should not be a requirement to just hang out together unless he wants to take the girl out to a fancy restaurant or do something else that is very expensive.

I mean he started his job it’s been 2 weeks or so, he works full time but he uses a bit of his check to pay for rent and does errands etc he can’t drive and he’s 28 and lives with family. We haven’t seen each other in a long time he’s been jobless for a while

Have you asked him why he thinks he has to save up money before he can hang out with you?

So when I try making plans to hangout he does get defensive or irritated by ghosting and doesn’t like when expectations are set before he commits. So we were going to try for Monday but instead of making it sound like a command or a set plan I wrote If you can’t do Monday that’s okay, I know you’re stacking and working hard I’m proud of you.

Every time we plan he ghosts and never follows through, either overwhelmed or nervous.

And about the stacking things he’s said Im just gonna stack up money till we can okay, his work weeks are stacked but he has days off meaning Sunday and Mondays.

Since he never follows through, I suggest you let him make plans when he is ready if you are still interested then. In the mean time have fun with other people.

I feel the exact opposite. I don't need a lot of money to be happy by myself, and I want a girl to like me for all the other reasons. Once I find that person, my entire mentality will change.
