What does it say about a man when they like cats?

I'm a dog guy.

I was terrorized and attacked by a farm cat when I was a kid and have been fearful of cats ever since.

As I've been attacked, unprovoked, by numerous other cats throughout my life, I believe that they can sense my fear.
Why they then go on attack me remains a mystery.
I can only think that they figure that they'd best get me before I have a chance to "get" them, which I never would do.

I don't dislike cats.
I'm afraid of them.
Years of trying to rationally talk myself out of my fear hasn't worked.
Forcing myself to handle kittens and cats as a means to get used to them hasn't worked, either.
I continue to steer way clear of cats if I know they're around.

I know some cat guys, married, unmarried, socialites, non-socialites.
They come from various walks of life, and their relationships with their cats are as varied as the men themselves are.

What do I think of men with cats?
I don't think anything about men with cats.
To each, their own.

It was very recently suggested to me by a very dear loved one, that in my advancing age and failing health, I get a kitten or cat as a companion.
My most recent canine pal passed away from cancer three years ago.
As much as I'd like another pup, I can't see myself being able to keep up with one.
I'm told that a kitten is easier to deal with.
For the past few days, I've given the thought of acquiring a kitten as much serious consideration as is possible for me to do.

It ain't gonna happen.

My boyfriend had a pet cat when we first met (he's added a dog since moving in with me) and he's the nicest, most thoughtful man I've ever met. So I am perfectly fine with a guy who has a cat for a pet.

Nothing bad about it but he might be more introverted. doesn't have to be but cats are introverted and they like calm people

Red flag to me. Every guy I’ve known who had a cat or liked cats more than dogs turned out to be weird and mean.
