What does it mean when your boyfriend says that your female best friend is the funniest person he knows? He used to laugh at my jokes and say that about me but now he hardly laughs. He’s remembered a random conversation they’ve had, they’ve only spoken like five times. But he’s now forgetful of what I thought was fond memories of us. Plus he misremembered my favorite shark as her’s.( I know it seems silly) And he’s incredibly intent on going to karaoke with her saying things like “Oh I bet you she’s secretly one of those people who can sing really well” he used to beg me to sing to him and he no longer does. I tried to ask him about it and he got really quiet and defensive saying they were “just comments”. Am I crazy or does he have a crush on my best friend?

When he says she's the funniest person he knows, that might mean nothing more than that she's the funniest person he knows. Someone being funny doesn't necessarily mean there's romantic attraction.

Some of the other things you mentioned though do seem a little concerning, so I don't think you're crazy for having some doubts. There might not be anything to worry about, but it would probably be good to pay attention to what's going on there.

I'm not sure whether you're saying they've been going to karaoke together or just that he's expressed a desire to multiple times. If they have been going, did you go also or was it a group or just the two of them?
