My answer is a little of both and I'm answering in context of a relationship. Outside of the relationship, I am very much a take charge type of guy.

I would submit to her in parts of life/the relationship where I am weak and she may be strong. I would take charge of where I am strong and she may be a little weaker.

As a guy, I have so many decisions to make in many aspects of my life. I do not mind taking charge of things outside the home. I can be the captain of this ship.

When I get home, I prefer to let the lady of the house take charge. She will likely know how to keep the home front together better than I will. Also, to have her be my peace when I come home would take a massive load off me to be able to handle the other aspects of our lives. She can be the captain of this ship.

Also, in a true and loving marriage, both partners would be serving the needs of their partners. If something is truly bothering her, I would address it so she can have peace and comfort. I would hope she would do the same for me. Part of trusting your partner is to try your best to submit to their wishes (reasonable ones anyways)
