Guys, Top reason to stalk a gal's social media?

Silly question, I guess, but the age of all the social media insanity is a little beyond my bandwidth. A guy goes dead quiet but starts stalking a gal he was texting daily on all social media. What for? I don't get it.

I know gals will stalk a guy's social media bc they're cycling through a million thoughts, but gals also tend to be more chatty about their "why" as opposed to guys.

So... what's a guy's top reason for stalking a gal's social media?

Sheer boredom

Habit/attachment

Pining and trying to figure out how to get her back

Looking for a way to get back at her for leaving

Mine was more um weird I guess.

When I was 16 I had my first love. She was my first everything. Because I was in states custody (foster care) it was doomed to fail. My social workers actually threatened her and her family if she didn't break it off with me. Anyway. After she left me she got with someone else who knocked her up 3 times and beat her to pieces. I didn't find out about that until it was all over. But looking her up when I was 20 and meeting her, is why I found out.

occasionally (once every few years) look her up just to make sure she's alive and happy. I don't meet her or anything like that. I don't communicate with her, I just look up her socials to see if she is okay. Haven't done that in 5 years though and I haven't spoken to her since I was 21.

Aww. Well of course that's not the same thing as ruining a relationship then following the gal around social media.

Not stalk, but check would be out of missing her or curiosity. Stalk implies that's a constant thing, not an I wonder what she's been up to during a moment I miss her.

I know, I used "stalk" as in "checking daily even at 3am"... but perhaps it's just missing the person. Personally, if I miss someone I just look at a pic I have on my phone for a moment or if we're in communication I text the person. I don't go on and on.

Literally stalk sounds very unhealthy, its hard to put myself in that mindset but I assume its something along the line of jelousy or lonelyness that gets people to do that.

I use the term if it (1) seems like unhealthy behavior and (2) makes the gal uncomfortable.

social media was not a thing when I was dating but I might have used it to run some recon of some girl I might be interested in.

I have never " stalked " a woman's page, but there was a time I was seeing a woman and she cheated on me with a friend and she wouldn't tell me. I didn't stalk her, but I tricked her to admitting it without even knowing.
