Has anyone been in an automotive accident?

My buddy that I ride bikes with got into an accident last Saturday. I don't really know much as of yet. Im going to see him after work today. His family said he broke some bones but he is talking tho. Im pretty sure he will ride again but maybe not on his bike. Harleys cost a lot to buy and fix. Has anyone got into a bike accident?

Im going to have to see if we still have plans for sturgis sd. So far we go every other yr for the motorcycle week.

I’ve been in a couple of fender benders, but nothing serious. One when i was driving, and another as a passenger. I’ve also been in a couple of uncontrolled slides. Again, one when i was driving and another as a passenger. There was a time that i fell asleep behind the wheel and left the highway. However, it wasn’t really an accident per se. The truck was built for off road and the rough terrain shook me awake before the vehicle was out of control. I calmly downshifted and steered back onto the highway and finished my drive home flying high on adrenaline. Ell oh ell!
I have unfortunately witnessed a few bad accidents and i’m ever grateful that hasn’t happened to me… yet. Knocking on wood!

Twice if not three times almost. Maybe 4 times.

Each time speeds of up to - no jokes - 5-10 km/h. You can do the maths. Into miles.

Each time was thankfully low speed careless drivers around me or when I backed up my fault into a small parking pole or bollard - nobody's perfect and each time, no damage to said small pole or bollard. I even reported them each time voluntarily that "sorry about that slight mark on your bollard / pole there" 💈 🚗

It ain't easy avoiding the slightest "well it's a parking lot 🅿️ they put these things and I only have so much neck without a reverse camera" - us folks can't all afford nice brand new cars 🚗 I'm talking brand brand new.
Some of us have to afford used, people ; drive safe all as do I 😋

Sigh - bollards - and small hip height poles right next to parking lines aka trolley bays - sigh 😔😅 vacant even or ancient abandoned metal bays - why? Why do they do these infrastructure things lol poorly 🅿️ it's like they want someone to side swipe or back into one at 1 km / 1 mile

oh no, I'm glad your friend is ok. I've never been on a motorcycle. I've ridden on the back of a 4 wheeler, but that's it The only motor accident I got into was when I was stopped at a light and this guy bumped the back of my car. Barely any damage was done. So I'm very lucky. My husband use to ride bikes, but he was riding wth some friends and one of them got into an accident. He ended up alright, but my husband sold his bike shortly after. And I'd not let him get a new one now lol. Especially with his child on the way.

Never been on a motorcycle. I'd be too scared. I've been in a car accident, but I wasn't driving. It wasn't bad either.

My own bike accidents were minor only.
Until now 😄
What kept me from worse stuff: I ignore traffic rules and speed limits - and replace them with common sense (works well here in Thailand, but perhaps not everywhere...)

When I was 16 a car ran a red light. I was a passenger and ended up breaking my femur and right arm. I did get a sizable settlement though.

Bike accident as in bicycle, yes. A reversing car bumped me into a traffic sign pole. It was a scary moment, but I got only light bruises.

I've never been on a bike but I've been a passenger in a couple of car accidents, one was barely a bump and the other wrecked my back and conjunction will likely paralyze me by 40

Car yes before Christmas. We are not hurt… car totaled.
hubby rides the dirt bike since age 7… so yeah he has gotten into a few. Now paying the price of back pain and shoulder/arm pain.

Sure, everybody over the age of 25 has had an automobile accident. Some are a lot younger as well.

Mine must seem rather insignificant without being comedic or trivial - mostly I had people run up me when I was stationary (low low speed) knocks or without reverse camera, "the bollard in the parking bay jumped out at me" - sigh 😔 bollards bollards hip height poles - right next to parking bays + sigh 🅿️🅿️🅿️
