Do you agree that a lot of men's mental issues in America is their fault, since they don't open to even other males that care?

I am a straight guy but still open up to people that I know well and that are close regardless if they are male or female, family, friends, etc. Most men however keep things bottled up, and don't tell anyone unless it is their wife/girlfriend, or relatives. They don't tell their male friends. Even if their male friend is open to hearing things, he still doesn't tell them. Most males I know do this. Most females on the other hand, tell their close female friends, and everyone else that is close. It doesn't make you less of a man.

I don't agree.

Males and females have different brain structures that has recently been elucidated by MRI's. Females have a dedicated speech center whilst men have a dedicated space center. Which explains why in social settings it is mostly women talking with men interjecting occasionally and why men will walk straight to car whilst his girl follows trying to work out where it is.

A group of 5 females can easily have at least 10 simultaneous conversations going at once. Five men will have one conservation at one time unless they split into groups.

Freud's client base was female so he developed talk therapy to suit his female clientele. While it is a recognized field it doesn't mean the treatment works equally for men and women.

After an unexpected assault I got 6 free victims of crime pyschology sessions. The assault did muck me up so I did them. My (female) pysch was very task oriented with me. I recommended her to a female friend and, with her, she was talk oriented. That pysch was sensible enough to adjust her treatment to gender (and temperament I guess).

I might have a work conflict and give a mate a two sentence summary. When he says "fucking arsehole" that's enough - I am back to rights. So in a limited way talk therapy works for me if it is in a couple of sentences.

If I say the same to a girl she'll want to explore my feelings about it because that is what she does with fellow girls. I'll end up saying to her "The less I talk about it, the sooner I will be over it". Probably I'll need to shut her down half a dozen times as she keeps on trying to come back to it.

I'm not negating your experience but wanting to point out that what works for females isn't naturally going to work for men, because we have different brains and our software is different too. Women seem to want to exhaust their emotions by talking. Men have more emotional regulation so talking about it can just make it worse for us.

But with men, it's not that simple.

"Opening up" does fucking nothing for us. That's why they say therapy was developed around what helps women.

Men these days are quick to blame their issues on something OR someone else instead of the real problem, themselves.
