I was in a heated family meeting with my so called step family who I’ve been around since a kid… I was hurt by what happened and I just left and started packing my things. My step brother was the only one who stood up for me and had my back and knew certain things were wrong… he was the only one who checked on me and I’m crying packing my stuff annoyed by him talking to me and he says “I need you.” I really don’t care because I’m upset

he’s always tried to stay in contact by following me on social media and he told my dad he missed me

his wife also was passive aggressive with me

So, what is the question here because you are giving a statement and not really asking a question to which we could give an answer.

He may have found that you are an interesting person to talk to and he tried to console you and stand by you when you were crying. You did brush him off as annoying you.

Nobody really needs anyone else in life. It is nice to have someone by your side but from there to say that "I need you" is a bit far fetched.

I presume he only wanted to make you feel better in that conflicting situation.

If you leave, he is left alone to deal with the family members who caused the conflict.

You’re allowed to be annoyed and hurt right now. His need doesn't automatically outweigh your need for space and peace.
