He called me a catfish, implied I was a gold digger semi-jokingly (maybe), and wouldn't tell me his name (and maybe still told me a fake one to get me to shut up, not entirely sure) because he thought I was a crazy psycho stalker, but he still likes talking to me anyway... what do you think?

I think he means well. Since you're smarter than him, I think you should consider that he probably just miscommunicated like most men do. Regardless of what you might think he thinks of you, what matters is he really likes talking to you. I think that answered your question :)

I think compliments are often more insulting (or at least, more disappointing) than complaints because, if he says something like "you're an ideal beautiful obedient wife" it turns you into something generic and replaceable. Even if expensive and rare, but still replaceable. It's better to be crazy and irreplaceable. He finds you special enough to overlook all the nonsense he has told himself about you.
