Why do guys obsess over boring topics like tires for so long?

I’m sitting at work listening to 3 guys talking about tires for over half an hour. WTF🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Guys have work, application based topics to talk on.
Series,
Anime, movies, videos games,
Skills- which are interesting.
I don't know what women talk about in general.
But guys want to learn constantly, play constantly or just lie down, have a beer or drink in a hand and say it's a good day or bored.
There are wild fantasies going on in there head.
Like if there is an attack, fire, etc just a survival scenario.
Guys aren't boring just have some interests which aren't interesting for women.

Women aren't interested in lets say a tire, it's because tire is just a part of a car.
But the science behind how it is interesting.

It's the same for men when you can name more colours,
men - it's red,
Women - it's not red it's crimson.

Same in makeup brands, many men (including me) still don't use makeup or skin care.
I am sure you can name at least 10 brands.

It's a difference of interests difference of opinion, looking it from a different lenses

when don't have completed knowledge.
Also it's just a survival instinct that everyone has learnt what you want to through discussions.

They are probably into Motorsports (racing, drifting, mudding, offroading/bouldering, etc.). Tires aren't a normal guy conversation, they are a hobby specific topic.

The mind is fascinating, it can obsess over about any topic, and no one knows clearly how obsessions initially formed. The why has been suggested before though, coping mechanism against anxiety, to feel a sense of order that is comforting. So, in a way, obsessions can ground people who could otherwise break apart.
