How do I handle an elderly parent who sabotages my lawn mowing?

He follows me around yelling and screaming and darting in front of the lawn mower trying to grab the mower off me.

I try to do it when he isn't here. But if he finds out I am here doing the lawn he will back to' supervise' me.

People came out of the house to see what he is doing.

I actually stopped mowing and waited for him to leave and then did it. When came back he was not happy and called demanding I redo it.

• I don't want to do it. But if I don't he won't hire anyone to do it. Or they will quit or he will fire them. he will get ticketed by the city. And lose the house.

It sounds like you are dealing with someone with the mentality of a young child. I suggest you stand up to him. If he jumps in front of you, stop mowing and leave. Tell him you will try again the next day. Keep doing that until he leaves you alone while mowing. If you mow it while he is away, don't give into his demands to redo it. Explain to him you will mow it your way to keep the city happy so he doesn't lose the house. If he wants it done a different way he can hire a landscaper.

He can't. He got a hairline fracture in his spine from breaking too hard. He kept guilting me about it but turns out he actually fell off a ladder and didn't think to tell anybody

"I'm doing this because YOU ASKED ME TO and because, if I don't, you're gonna lose your house!! If you don't stop harassing me, I'm going home and leave the lawn to you and if you don't do it, you're gonna lose your house!! Now, which do you want: your house or a nice cardboard box under a bridge?"

Explain as irritating as he is I don't want him To get hurt. he hurt his hand trying to grab the lawnmower off me. He almost got hit by a car darting in front of it because he didn't like how the person parked in my driveway. It ruined Thanksgiving.
