Keeping a lock of someone's hair?

Cute or very worrying? My mate used to keep a lock of his girlfriend's hair in his wallet (we were about 14, 15) and at the time I just laughed. If someone did this, as an adult, what would you think?

I've never thought about doing that. Did he smell the hair or something to remember her? =S I guess I'd just rather have something more sentimental from a good memory or a picture where I could look into her eyes.

Yes I understand that, I'm just trying to understand the connection with the hair. The only thing I would think of would be the scent. I think it would be weird to be sniffing a chunk of old hair. =S To each their own I guess...
