It’s simple, You’re YOUNG, He’s HORNY & He Wants To Drop Your Panties so he’s lying about his age because SOME of the women his age are so cold you can freeze ice on their ass. In addition he probably wants to avoid immediate rejection based on a large generational gap, or manipulate someone he perceives as less experienced.
Women lie about their ages all the time so he’s turning the tables on this one.
Many men lie constantly and can't answer a straight question when asked, as you probably have noticed on this post. They will always shift the focus onto the woman. It is NEVER about them.
Lying is nature's lubricant for a penis to enter a vagina of course.
Perhaps he thinks she wouldn't date a guy in his 40s.
Probably to increase his chances of getting with you.
Same reason a woman would lie about her body count.

When i was younger it never would have crossed my mine to lie to a woman about my age. But now that i'm older seeing as how much women lie it borders on the pathological, i still don't think i'd lie about my age. But i can totally get why a guy would now.

Well most guys that would lie probably are creeps. My attitude is i'm ok with being rejected as long you are rejecting who i truly am. That's why i wouldn't lie. Because that's not a ME problem. That is most likely a "her perception of who i am problem". But some women are so quick to judge i can see why some guys would lie.
So that is probably why the OTHER guys would lie. That's why i used the body count analogy. I know you know that body counts are relevant. That's why so many women lie about them. Because they don't think men should be able to judge that.
