A while back some work friends were trying to set me up with this guy from work. He’s a couple years younger, and just graduated college. He’s cool and seems social but also kinda awkward and has a playful joking side. He can be friendly though. One of our first conversations he made small talk with me and I saw he viewed my LinkedIn profile the next day. We all ended up at a bar together and he had his roommate from out of town and he didn’t talk to me and seemed distracted so I dropped it. We got out on the same schedule and he’ll always come by my desk and say hi but I don't know if that’s just him being social. I’ll see him having full blown convos with other colleagues. Today he came by my desk and was like hey and I was like “hi” and he looked kinda defeated and was like “Idk I feel like everytime I come up here and try to talk to you you’re like get away from me or get out of my face” and I was like “what? Do you think I hate you?” And he nodded. I was like “I don’t hate anyone” and he was like “do you wanna hear a funny story?” And then told me about how a colleague got excited because there was pizza and he was like “he rlly loves food” and I was like “I really love food” and he was like “ppl with eating disorders don’t eat food” I think he said anorexia or something and I was like “are you saying I have an eating disorder?” And he was like “no I would never say that” and he was like “I was saying in general people with eating disorders don’t like food” and I was like “never ask a woman that” and he got defensive and was like “I wasn’t saying that” and then he left to go to talk to my nearby male colleague who asked what was going on and said to him, “I was bored” and called me a “hater” to him. Do you think I should be concerned about the eating disorder thing he said to me? Or was it just him being awkward
