A guy has a good career, lives with his parents and plans to live with them indefinitely because he likes his parents and they have a very large home. Also he’d rather invest all of his money then dump money in the property market that isn’t really going to grow much or generate dividends/cash flow. Especially early in his career

It sounds smart depending on where you live, how overpriced real estate is, and how you get along with your parents. Multigenerational homes used to be common in parts of Europe.

Even in the US in some areas until the post WWII economic boom made it a reality and an expectation that everyone own their own home. Now that the middle class has been gutted by the 1%, college no longer makes any economic sense for most people, and home prices have been inflated to astronomical levels, people are being forced to reexamine the American Dream contract after the indentured servant clause was added between 1984 and today.

It does make sense. But like any other way of living there will be tradeoffs in freedom and lifestyle. But you gain a tribe backing you up.

That is very smart, it is a horrible time to buy real estate.

However, when you go on dates, make sure you say, “I live with my parents, and here's why...”

And if you want to get laid that night, throw in a, “they're getting on and can't do everything for themselves like they used to be able to...” or some such.

Houses always make money

Nope the property market in my country im not sure how how it can go, soon it will be paper valuations with no one to buy it. Don’t forget the amount of additional tax you have ti pay and interest in any money bothered. Getting on the property ladder wasn’t what it was for our parents. Invest in stock markets, equities

I believe in buying investment property only where you actually get a return but if I have a mansion that I can already live in it’s a waste of money to buy another house all to make a girl happy and heavily downgrade my lifestyle
