Men today seem more knowledgeable about women's experiences than men did 20 years ago, largely because access to information and social attitudes have changed dramatically. Social media, podcasts, online communities, and educational resources have made it easier for men to learn about topics that were once rarely discussed openly, including menstruation, pregnancy, hormonal changes, emotional labor, and the psychological challenges women face.
Another important factor is that women now have more opportunities to share their experiences directly, challenge outdated stereotypes, and explain aspects of their lives that men might never have encountered in their personal relationships. Younger generations are also more exposed to discussions about gender equality, emotional intelligence, and healthy relationships. However, there is a difference between being informed about women and genuinely understanding them. The internet can educate people, but it can also reinforce stereotypes and create the illusion of expertise. Reading about women's experiences is valuable, but it cannot replace listening to individual women, recognizing that their experiences differ, and approaching them with empathy rather than assumptions.
Social media and the internet perhaps?
