Is Confidence Sexy? Yes or No?

Do you believe or feel that confidence is sexy?

I often see FEMALES in particular recommend confidence to every guys and girls problem. If they can't find a partner, confidence. If they're unattractive confidence. If they're feeling down confidence. When asked what's sexy, confidence.

Is confidence sexy? I feel like the whole "confidence is sexy" is a female thing.

Yes, I think it is. It's nice seeing a guy that is comfortable with who he is, the decisions he makes, and his judgment and abilities. I think the confusion comes in when people confuse confidence with arrogance. I don't think confidence means you have to be loud (and obnoxious) or the most self-assured guy in the world, but it's so much better to have a guy who's worth you don't have to reassure them of every day, you know?

That being said, other factors do come into play. For example, vulnerabilities can be enticing too. It's great when someone lets you in, and let's you see their insecurities. Confidence doesn't have to have a complete blanket application, in my opinion. You don't have to be confident and sure of everything, but it's just comforting to know that a dude will take whatever is thrown at him and have enough faith in himself to deal with it.

I know its beyond cheesy to say but... I find it extremely sexy. There is nothing sexier than a guy who isn't afraid of himself or his insecurities.

As for confidence in women, I really admire confident women. a TON, actually. I aspire to be more like them and see them as role models, basically-- even when they are my own age.

I don't think its the solution to everything and it can certainly backfire on someone if they don't find a proper balance, but it certainly does help :)

No, confidence is sexy in men & women. I have seen some unattractive people (in both sexes) become attractive simply because they liked who they were and didn't think about what other people thought of them. It's refreshing because so many people are not like that. I think confidence is a rare quality too. Perhaps, that is why it is attractive.

Confidence is attractive and I think most people have it to some degree and in a variety of areas in their lives, but many people confuse shyness and approach anxiety with a lack of confidence, which isn't true.

It's more the other way around. From a guy's perspective...a woman's confidence IS sexy...but then so too is a woman who's demure and a little shy. As far as I know, women find confidence in men sexy.

Yes definitely. I don't want to be someone who has to reassure and walk on eggshells around a girl. A girl that stands on her own is impressive because it also implies maturity to me, and that too is a great trait that I like to see in people.

I agree! Haha, that's what made me ask this. Every time a guy asks a question needing advice for a relationship or feeling better, girls say "confidence."

I really can't judge cause I can't give those guys advice, I have none, but c'mon. Confidence for everything? lol

NOW, that's not to say we're OK with a dude who's always down on himself, but confidence won't make a person automatically attractive or right for them

that's the thing though,.. girls on here make it seem like if a guy's confidence is anything less than unbreakable then he's screwed, I doubt ANY guy is as whiny bitchy or bitter in person/reality, and most are as confident as your average guy, but those same guys still don't get any feedback from girls in person

Perhaps it's because I'm insecure about certain things, I don't expect a dude to be 100% secure and I don't think I'd want that, only cause, I'm insecure and I feel to some level we'd be able to sympathize ya know.

But I think confidence is blown up on this site.

I just don't want a guy who always complains about things he can change but does nothing. I also don't want him complaining constantly about things he can't change

But I mean, I suppose I'm in the minority and that's not the perspective y'all are going against. So that doesn't help. As I told you, I can't really judge those girls cause I have no answer to give to that.

Dude you've got to keep in mind some of the crap said on here is said just to hurt the opposite genders feelings. So some of the unrealistic expectations of a guys confidence is bull.

yea I agree and that's what I'm getting at, my point is .. that in reality many guys are confident to a degree, and a lot of them change things they can change for the better

in that situation, if a guy is still having girl problems.. what would you suggest?

I would tell him...he may need to re-evaluate his emotional state. Is there a particular reason he's having girl problems...like fear of girls, inexperience, afraid of looking stupid. I'd tell him to have no expectations at all, in regards to girls. Not talking about standards, but going into a friendship or when approaching a girl, have none.

Don't expect a date or for her to be interest. Expect the worst & hope for the best.

I'd also ask what in particular is a problem for him.

For instance, he may need to change the way he enters into the dating scene. He should ask a friend to introduce him to somebody. Just give the friend the preferences and standards and have them play match maker.

Or maybe internet dating, as silly as it seems to many. For some it's the right way to date.

Or I would suggest he branch out on his hobbies, so he could meet a girl he has more interests with. For instance, chances are, those with similar personalities will hang out at the same places

I will say, I completely agree with you 100% on that. I really...there are a couple, mostly male, I don't know why, but male users who I have noticed changed. Like, you can tell it makes them second guess themselves and they become less comfortable with who they are or what they look like and I think it's sad. There is one in particular who comes to mind and I've slowly watched him become more...negative and aggressive, although he hasn't been on for long, which is sad.

I can use myself as an example lol, when I first joined this site I was pretty confident, in myself and the way I did things, but then I started reading female answers on here and I didn't fit any of what they said aand from there I started questioning myself and my confidence and then things got sh*tty lol

I think that's normal. A lot of the sh*t said on here is...the same. It's a sheep mentality. And any other different opinions get uh...judged I suppose.

But again, there are a few users, both girls and guys, mostly girls I think, who use this site as a way to "get back" at guys. Those girls often think ALL guys expect a blond, big boobed, small waist, big butt bimbo. So they think that by putting some outrageous penis size/height/weight/appearance answer, they're "getting back" at guys.

Yeah, confidence is just one of the many things women judge men on. Guys are a lot more forgiving in the confidence area. It would have to be fairly extreme for it to start bothering me.
