Do guys like helping girls they like?

I want to start a texting conversation with this guy I used to work with who we know have established we both like each other but don't want to rush into anything. I want to text him but don't want to sound desperate.

Some people suggest I start off with something cute and flirty like "Hey sexy or hey cutie can't stop thinking about you" but to me that's too much. He's a huge marketing/Search Engine Optimization geek he LOVES it, he's the chief Marketer at his job. I was thinking about asking him a SEO related question over text and see if he'd like to help me...and maybe get the conversation started but I'm not sure if he'd just find that annoying. Do guys like it when girls need their help or should I just go with the usual flirty text...what do you think?

guys love to come to the girl's aid...especially if we like you. We want you to feel that we can solve your problems and rescue you. It makes us feel like a man. I think honestly you should text him hey how's it going...i have this question about SEO...blah blah blah. Once he answers the question see how he's been doing...if he met someone special or what not and then tell him that you will be going to have coffee or something and that he's free to join so you guys can converse. I'm sure he will do it if he likes you. If not...take it slow at that point so you don't kick him from your life by accident.

haha that's the point, he's extremely nerdy when it comes to this stuff but he's really good looking & used to girls calling him hot & cute or handsome. I'm pretty too & I guess I just want to show him that I'm different than the other girls and not fawn all over him so to speak idk

ask him if google is tracking your email (if you use gmail) and if he thinks that SEO in terms of advertising and scanning words is an invasion of privacy? ;)

Conversation is not that difficult.The "flirty"comment you are thinking of using sounds cheesy...like something COSMOPOLITAN Magazine would suggest.But yes,guys do like helping girls they like.Why don't you just ask regular questions about him?Suggest interesting foreign films?Share opinions or information about Occupy Wall street?Anything...a funny antedote etc.Theres so much you can do,without the over thought.Its JUST conversation. :)

I don't believe in playing silly chasing games.I don't need the headache.Some guys like chasing,some don't.But I'm not into playing games.The guy I'm currently seeing,i asked HIM out...and partially planned where the first date was.Im bold,what can I say.Hes sort of quiet and didn't think I would be interested.That was almost 5 mths ago now.And I did exactly what I mentioned above in addition to making up fun stories to make him laugh.No games,just being myself and he still "chases" me. :)
