If a girl is comfortable when you put your arm around her shoulder in the rain is it a good sign?

I mean, if the guy is shielding the girl with his coat and he puts his arm around her in the rain to keep her safe. And if she doesn't protest, is that a good sign?

Or would girls usually say to someone they are not interested in (whom they are going out with) buzz off I have my own coat and umbrella?

Or is it a thing where girls just accept gentlemanly protection because it's a norm?

What I want to know is. If I can move upclose to her and put my arm around her while shielding her from traffic/rain and if she doesn't protest like "what are you doing.. or f*ck off," do I take that as a good sign that we could hit it off?

Yes, it's a good sign. No need to make excuses as to WHY your arm's around the girl -- though I find the guys always do that, lol. If she minded she would have refused the aid, as many of us do if we don't like the guy.
