What does it mean when you tell a guy you like him and then he starts to wear cologne and he's never worn it before?

He's a quiet guy. I think he likes me. He likes me talking to him. The first time I told him I liked him he wore it. We work together. When we had a disagreement, he didn't wear it. When I reassured him I still liked him, he wore it again.

Some guys spray on cologne for everything because they get used to it, even if it's like, a trip to the grocery store. Unless what he had on was distinctly different from what he usually wears...
