Why do guys only look at the outer beauty instead of the inner beauty?

There is this guy that I really liked and he doesn't really look at me. He told me that the reason why he didn't look at me or talk to me was because I wasn't pretty.

First off, guys don't just look at outer beauty, its just we are attracted more initially by apppearance, its just the way we are. We notice looks first which girls also do, its just guys look at looks too long, where as girls tend to be attracted to a persons personality sooner. Most guys just have to realize and mature a bit before they realize looks are only half the equation. If a guy says that then obviously he isn't that mature and you aren't missing out on anything except on a guy who will just move on to the prettier one when she comes along, and there is always someone prettier, or more muscular for guys or taller or etc. People just have to realize they need to be happy with what they are, because everyone is beautiful to someone, you just have to wait to find them :)

That is so not true. Well, looking at the outer beauty is the first step, but it's not the last step. When we meet someone for the first time, our first impression is on how they look (outer beauty). Then, it's time to get to know the person (inner beauty) by talking to them. The person might look good, but might have a horrible sense of humor or something.

Outside beauty is important as well. It's important you feel a physical attraction for the other person. It's also the first thing you see and CAN judge a person on. So it's your first filter. You look at those you find attractive. Then you look further for personality. Guys don't JUST want outer beauty, maybe if they're just out for sex yeah. You don't spend the rest of your life with a beautiful bitch.

This guy was brutally honest, if nothing else. I'm sure that had to hurt. That being said, whereas he didn't find you physically attractive, there are other men that probably will. The reason why it hurt so much is because you wanted him to want you, and it didn't quite work out that way. Sorry to hear that, but rejection is part of the game until both parties find each other mutually attractive, inside and out. Just keep trying!

Not every guy is like this, but we all can be assumed to care about appearance, if even just a bit. Any guy worth liking would focus on you as a person.

Because that's the first thing we notice. If we don't like how you look, your personality never even comes into consideration. Women are guilty of the same thing, notice how all the good, studious men don't even get a chance with women because of the way they look.

im sure other guys find you attractive every one has varying tastes. however I'm the first to admit I'm shallow, often I have ignored girls because I did not find them attractive. I figure if I'm not attracted to her I'm not going to ask her out so I will go talk to a girl I would ask out. I do have other girls come talk to me and I'm polite etc just not gonna go outa my way to talk to them. I also worry I may lead them on when I'm not really interested.

I look at inner beauty and I love how beautiful some women are on the inside but guys need to be sexually stimulated and most men just rely on their visual senses and don't want to expand any other senses.The amount of p*rn on the internet doesn't help the situation either.

A lot of women are very selfish but don't ever realize it, they are too self-absorbed to see or care about how much they hurt others. A lot of women say "I love you" but don't know what they're talking about.
