What people foods are safe for my dog to eat?

Can my dog eat sausage? We just made breakfast for dinner and left the leftover sausage out for two seconds and he jumped up and got a few pieces before we knew what he was doing. Will he be ok? Two Christmases ago my female got ham and got super sick. So I'm wondering if sausage will do the same? I believe it was like Jimmy Dean Maple sausage.

dogs can have sausage, though, it depends on their immune system (like, does he get sick easy?). He may throw up (do NOT give him hydrogen peroxide!) or have the runs. Other than that, it's not going to kill him. Just make sure he has lots of water in his bowl, and if he needs to go out, get him outside. Also, if there was a lot of sugar in the sausage (like, the maple part), there's a higher chance if him getting sick. It won't be bad, but If he get sick easy and doesn't look good, call the vet and ask, and if they suggest to bring him in, then take him.

A vet told me once that dogs shouldn't eat anything from a pig. I had a poodle who got very sick from eating ham. However, when I was little we always had dogs that we kept outside and they always ate scraps and never got sick. They were mixed breeds. So, I think if they are fullblooded they will probably get sick because their immunities aren't as good. But mixed breeds should be okay.

That makes sense. Because last Christmas our purebred yellow lab (the dog's mama) was fed ham and got super sick.

Well the last time my dog ate something like that she had the runs, especially if your dog is used to eating just dog food instead of table food. But in about three maybe four days or so it will be ok there's nothing you can really do about it but let it get our of their system :(

From personnel experience I grew up with a dog. And from a dogs point of view,can imagine eating the same 'ol stuff

everyday. That's why we feed'em table scrapes and you what I had 1-that lived to be 16-yrs old

I know it's safe to feed dogs chicken, and I think beef is okay too, but I've never heard anything about pork. It might be something that's unhealthy for him in large amounts, but eating a few pieces just once won't hurt him too much.

It could but I wouldn't think so now bones will hurt a dog ya I know they love them but it can hurt them realy bad. some say cloc will to but I've never seen it

once my tiny dog ate a lot of chocolate. she was looking really bad so my brother gave her hydrogen peroxide to make her throw up. if your dog looks... deathly, use hydrogen peroxide (you can get it just about anywhere)

it depends on the type of dog. usually big dogs can usually eat anything and it won't bother them but my dog is a tiny dog and can't really eat anything but dog food and will get sick.
