Why is he so talkative with everyone but me?

I like this guy. And I'm naturally shy when first meeting new people. I started a new job and have become friends with a lot of my co workers. The one guy I like seems to always be around me, and if I say I'm going somewhere with some go workers he will go to, if I'm not going he won't go..but when we are hanging out amongst everyone he will stand by me but no say much to me, but make jokes and have conversation with everyone else, we talk some and when we do I like it. I thought with him being so out going it would be easier? But why isn't he like that with me? He also looks at me and I laughed at something he said that he didn't know I heard and he blushed...
Why is he so talkative with everyone but me?
