Im a tomboy and was just wondering if this could be what's stopping me from getting a boyfriend?

* I don't have a male haircut

* I still like to wear skirts and dresses from time to time

* I don't usually wear make-up

* I like to look good but still be comfortable

Being sporty, or looking boyish is simply your "style" ... attraction is less about your style and outer expression and MORE about the emotional communication between you and a dude.

So if you want a "boyfriend" you don't need to change who you are or what you're about... you should instead change how you interact with the boy's you want.

We guys LOVE a girl who's confident, fun, receptive, flirty, and sometimes a little bit of a mystery. Why a mystery? Because guys love to solve puzzles.. it's more challenging and fun.. and makes you seem more valuable, instead of easy to get.

The best way to improve your dating game is to have some real world perspective on who you're BEING when you're around guys. Perhaps ask a close friend to watch in order to get some feedback?

Are you being fun or are you being grumpy? Are you moody or are you easy going? Is your body language open and inviting or is it closed off and guarded?

Do guys find you fun to engage or do you push them away?

Find a friend to give you some honest feedback...

Would it make a difference if I told you my guy best freind said these statements tonight "your just not girlie like the other girls your more a dude in a chicks body which is probably why we are such good freinds" and "ok tomboys are awesome" (out of context obviously)

If you want to be attractive as a woman then your best approach with guys is to be flirty, playful, and inviting. Invite them to chase you, tease them, and be fun.

I'm not sure why you would care what your guy friends think of you, unless you're trying to sleep with your guy friends.

Remember... attraction is about chemistry and tension. That makes good lovers.

But friendship is about rapport and comfort and similarities.

So your guy friends will like you being "one of the guys."

I like it because she likes more guy-ish stuff.

The problem is steryotypically tomboy girls are usually not so attractive. I've found this to be fairly true but I have found some noteable exceptions.

Assuming you are attractive, the reason you might be having a hard time getting a boyfriend is because of another steryotype, that women are supposed to be feminine and such. This is an unfortunate fact of life, most males have all kinds of things drilled into their heads from a very young and impressionable age (same with females) and most do not break free from it, there are exceptions however, it is just a matter of finding one.

Guys are usually very attracted to tomboyish girls (because they have more in common) as long as they still look and act somewhat feminine. It sounds like you've got a good balance of both to me. I'm pretty much the same in those areas and I've never had a problem getting guys.

I recently met a tomboy girl... she's not my type at all but I'm soooooo into her because of the fact she's tomboyish, there's something about tomboy girls that guys can't really put their fingers on but we lover them, usually way more of a connection and fun. If you meet a guy that likes tomboys don't change or try to be extra girly... there's a reason why like that you're tomboyish

As a man, I am incredibly attracted to tomboys. I actually love the short hair look. Not bald or buzzed but the pixie cut or similar. There is something about tomboys that just entrance me and I can't stop looking at them like they are the most beautiful creatures to ever exist. I was seriously abused as a kid by men and older boys so I have never trusted men and never had many male friends growing up. I've never had and any girly girl friends either thinking that as an abused guy they would see me as a lesser man. But with tomboys I just feel more relaxed and can be myself. Also, as someone pointed out below some men don't like women out masculinizing us but with tomboys that doesn't bother me.

well after 18 years living i just found out that i prefer tomboy than any feminine woman , why even though they love to wear guy-ish style they totally act like a woman do after all , like that one time i tried to pick up the super cute tomboy ( in my own preference ) and she rejected me like any hot/normal chick does... and that make me love her even more
