Are girls intimidated or nervous around a good looking guy?

I've been told my whole life that I'm a very handsome/hot guy and I can see what they mean.

As nice at it is sometimes it can be a pain to figure out whether a girl is actually interested or not. Because girls act weird around me sometimes (like nervous or distant) I have come to assume that it means they find me attractive but they are nervous or uncomfortable. Especially since I'm not an a**hole and I usually just try to talk and be nice, there's no reason for them (in my mind) to shrug me off or not like me.

So my question is basically to see if I'm right in assuming that: if a guy is hot and he comes up to you and tries to talk to you will you sometimes act distant or nervous because you're feeling self conscious or something?

It happens all the time, I can try and talk to someone in line or somewhere public, or even at a party, and they seem to not really want to talk or act weird, like they'll be talking loudly to their friends and I'll approach to talk to them and they get quieter and uncomfortable. Does this happen because of physical attraction or because I'm being weird somehow

You sound like you have been uplifted your entire life yet your still insecure go figure.  Now on to responding to your question:  Some chick are also insecure foolishly assuming you're to good for them or feel that you are out of their league. Some assume you just wanna smash (have sex) then ditch them for being dumb & easy. Some just aren't into you, some are into you. All in all the ball is always in YOUR COURT  you need to learn how to play the game more effective. You said: "I usually just TRY to tlk & be NICE"  well don't just TRY just DO it!  You dnt sound like a prick or a schmuck so be the guy that's easy to:  speak to, chat with, just an all around Easy going MAN MAGNANT! Pay close attention to your body language trust me everyone else is. Be open & be VERY cool with all women in your proximity. Even if you have no interest in them whatsoever just do it  (this will be your practice your trial & & error) SOON  enough women from far & near will take notice of how cool & sexy & manly you are ( Learn to be the perfect extrovert by engaging in conversation of various topics of theirs & hopefully your interest with all types of chicks frm the: tallest, fattest, midgets, stunning, prettiest, bombshells,curvy, tanned to their skin turned burnt orange, ha! the average looking, ugly, smelly, greasy faced, greasy & zit plagued face, all races foriegn & domestic & you prevail & then any that dn't fit your preference then you can give them the cold shoulder. Definitely. I'm very to myself and conserved, so if a good looking guy comes up to me that would obviously increase. It's just kind of intimidating, especially if he comes to talk to you because you wonder WHY a hot guy is talking to a girl like you. Of course not all hot guys are intimidating it depends on how well you know him. If I'm around my friends I will be totally outgoing around good looking guys, but if I'm alone and there is good looking guys I am so awkward that I just avoid that situation at all costs haha.

I think it depends on the girls selfesteem. personally, when a hot guy hits on me I get super shy. I start wondering if he is f***ing with me. if you are easy going and cool and act like you are trying to get to know the girl as a person then it shouldn't matter, but... maybe find someone close to your level for looks. otherwise, society is harsh, and doubts from others I think can overwhelm the girl you choose. just my opinion living in cali and myself not being the hottest but dated some guys cuter than myself.

Yeah, that happens to me. I've been told I'm very handsome and a hot guy. A lot of times when I initiate and attempt to continue a pleasant conversation with girls, they just get nervous/uncomfortable and shut down. Sometimes they even start the conversation, and I do my best to maintain it in a warm, respectful manner, but they still just get nervous and shut down.

I did do it once with a guy getting all shy, but I got hurt by him and he had a big ego so ever time I saw him I reacted and acted like an idiot and then it was well he's good looking why is he interested in me type scenario so I think when you like someone you sometimes act clumsy and silly and I believe its something you aware of but you consciously are thinking wow is he for real. So if rambling but I it depends on the guy and the situation and the surrounding your in girl act less dorky with a guy if they are in there own surrounding and again it's when a girl is insecure and step away from that comfortzone

To answer your question, I don't feel nervous around typically hot guys because I've dated some very very attractive ones. The reason why I may act slightly weird around a hot guy would probably be due to the fact that may be over confident- that bugs me and I avoid guys like that. I don't like guys that approach me assuming that I will be putty in their hands. I like humble guys that don't have massive egos

Maybe girls are  weird around you because of your arrogance/ or flagrant narcissism. I am  not saying you aren't a good looking guy but you are not a ten. I have seen better looking and girls usually flock to them and smile and be all flirty not act weird.

My be the girls are seeing you for what you are an a*&&hole. I do not date the top looking guys for that very reason all of them are  a#$%holes. I did had quite a few of them ask me out but no thanks. It happen this spring he is extremely confused and kind of offended- why a girl that is not exactly a 10 does not want to go with him when all other will kill for a date.  I prefer nice man.

Well in general, ya. Girls are often intimitated by really attractive men, because it sometimes makes us feel "not good enough".

Most girls are very insecure about their looks anyways and are afraid a guy more attractive than them will cheat on them. Also it's often assumed attractive men want sex only.

But if you were just talking as friends, I don't think they'd be nervous because of your looks unless they felt you were hitting on them

i'd get a little nervous but after a bit of talking I'd usually be myself again. there was once I got a bit nervous I held the guy's face in my hands and said very seriously..."you're really handsome" and then we laughed about it for a few minutes lmao

Although I'm usually gullable I tend to be more distant and not actually believe the guy wants to talk to me as a friend or whatever if I find him attractive.That usually doesn't result in a lasting friendship but its kind of my fault.But I'm shy in general so its the main reason I guess.

I couldn't tell you what other people think, but I personally am not intimidated by attractive men. If I shrug them off it's usually because they said something that put me off or I'm just not interested.

I get all shy too! I'm not very insecure I do latin and ballroom dancing and I am normally quite confident speaking to people as I do some teaching, but even I get nervous and am lost for words sometimes when a nice guy comes along. I don't know why really I just do. It's like I turn into a child again because a fit guy is speaking to me. Maybe txting first is a better way for them to get to know you for you and takes the pressure off them too if they are nervous.

Only if I had feelings for him. If we just met and you and I were just talking like friends do I wouldn't act weird or anything. If I started liking you as more than a friend, I get kind of get nervous and jittery.
