unless he's just very awkward and has a hard time expressing himself or is afraid of rejection, there's nothing abnormal about telling someone to have a good day all the time assuming you talk to them often.

we met online and have Skyped once so far but its hard for us to both be available with our own schedules and school and such...but we have talked daily for two and a half weeks and about lots of things...when we Skyped he seemed nervous like he kept running his fingers through his hair and kept moving around in his chair, every 5 minutes was drinking his ice water he had there

Ahh I have a bit of a clearer picture now. He certainly is nervous but that's normal for when you meet someone over the internet. It looks like he's trying a little to impress you with the hair thing, but also he's trying to keep a safe distance which is why he keeps fidgeting. He's trying not to be a stereotype weirdo that you meet on the internet even though he is interested in you. It seems to me like he doesn't have any bad intentions, but he's certainly thinking too much.

he hasn't asked me out or anything yet we're both using pretty crappy phones right now so we've just been sticking to writing online but I want to move forward and meet and stuff like that but I'm afraid to say something and he's told me stuff like I can ask him anything and that he doesn't mind

he has told me that he's a pretty picky guy and very selective about who he chooses to have intimate relationships with so but I'm not sure where to go from here because talking online is getting dull now

another thing he was doing during the Skype was leaning back in his chair a lot and stretching with his hands behind his neck and he's pretty built and I had someone say he was trying to show off his guns lol I don't know how accurate that statement is though he did that like a good 3 or 4 times lol

Either he's just a cocky SOB, or he's very interested but trying to make you say you are interested first. Either way, there's no shame in asking if he wants to meet up in a neutral location like a starbucks to talk face to face, then you can decide from there if you want to keep being friends or more than that.

lol he's honestly not all that cocky or doesn't appear to be, he's much different than I anticipated..i thought he was going to be stuck up, full of himself, rude etc but he's really nice, sweet and down to earth etc

and I have most definitely told him I'm interested lol I was thinking me and him could meet at one of the local malls near us and that might be fun but I'm just afraid to say something, I wish he would ask first but I don't know if he will, maybe he's too nervous to or something I'm not sure

Yea, going from online to offline is a big step and is rather frightening most times. As long as you're meeting in a public place you will be alright. As for who asks first, it's 2012. Be aggressive girl, if you ask him to meet up then you're the one holding the cards which makes it easier to plan your next move. There's no harm in putting yourself out there, Just be safe and have fun.

It's all a big stereotype. overinterested men on the internet wanting to meet up and then bad sh*t going down like getting robbed, raped, or beaten. All guys are wary of it. It's why we tend to appear less interested online than we really are. It's about trying not to scare the women away. It's a scary world out there...

but what you said makes sense, at least the good men are aware of it lol I've been trying out online dating just to see what its about and I've gotten some creepy and crazy messages before!

Yes he is interested, even though he may be playing it "cool". And to be honest I've never heard of a situation where a girl scared a guy away by asking him out online assuming the guy knew for a fact that he was talking to a girl lol. So chin up and do for it. The worst thing that'll happen is he'll say no. And seeing as how you claim the Skype chats are getting dull, it seems like you don't have much to lose at all.

i hope he is..lately this whole week he's been taking longer to answer my messages than normal and of course me being a girl has me overthinking crap and getting upset thinking he doesn't like me when I thought he did etc...but I just asked him and now I'm very nervous, I keep thinking that what if he won't even reply

I'm sure he'll reply. Just give him the space to do it. Take your mind off of it and play a video game or have a beer (what a guy thing to say right? lol) Seriously though, don't make this out to be something bigger than it is, just a casual meeting between two interested people. if it happens it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I'm sure you won't have trouble finding a decent guy outside of this one dude if it comes to that.

its just weird because before he was writing me consistently and such and then its like all this week he's taking longer to reply and such..yesterday he initiated and told me he hoped I had a good day etc and said a few other things really friendly and such and I wrote back and didn't hear anything and then right before I went to bed I said something else and I still haven't heard anything but I messaged earlier today saying I hope he had a good day and then I just asked him about the hang out...

It's perfectly normal to feel that way, everyone gets nervous when they are waiting for a date reply. Welcome to the man's world lol. But it's alright, be patient and divert your attention elsewhere. Its very likely that he's preoccupied with something else. But also consider the possibility that most guys contact women over the internet because they want to have sex and usually stop talking to them if they can't get it. If this guy is as nice as you claim then I'm sure this isn't the case.

well there's 4 messages that I've sent now and I'm definitelyy not sending anymore until he answers, IF he does...it was weird that he writes me last night then never says anything again I do know lately he hasn't been online AS MUCH as he was before this week but I still see him come on and whenever he would come on he would write me so its just weird I really hope I haven't been pushing him away or something, he says I'm fine but I still worry (no surprise there)

Well, just be patent with this, no need to rush anything. Just be a good friend for now, maybe suggest another Skype chat and see if his behavior changes.

well I did ask if he would be interested in skyping again sometime and that we had never said anything about it the last time and he said yeah we could do that if we're both able to get on and that he didn't say anything because I don't have internet at home he figured it would be too much of a hassle.

but its just that talking online is starting to get monotonous and dull now, I'm not trying to rush things or anything I just don't feel like we're getting anywhere lol
