Are there really guys out there who will spoil their gf's?

I'm just curious, because I have heard of guys doing this but have never experienced this myself.

Now I'm not looking for a sugar daddy, and I'm not looking for a guy to do everything for me. But it would be nice to meet a guy who isn't afraid to show appreciation once in a while.

I am one of those girls who does everything for her guy, you could definitely say I spoil the guys I am with. However, I have never had this returned :(

I work very hard, and do what I can to make the guys I am with happy. I have never ever had anything done for me. But this is a pattern for most guys I meet. They aren't interested in helping out with anything. Well, they say they are when you first meet them, but then they completely change once they have me :S

I don't get it. Why the bait and switch? If you know someone is wanting something, why deceive them. Makes no sense.

I'm not a gold digger. I work and make my own money. But what's so hard with bringing flowers to your girlfriend or doing something special for you? Especially if she does things for you all the time?

Are there really guys who do this?

I'm also wondering, does it matter what the girl looks like? Like if she's just average, or below average then would you still do anything for her? Or is that treatment reserved only for the hot girls?

I wouldn't say my boyfriend spoils me but he does treat me really well and does a lot of nice things for me. We live together and he pays 60% of the rent while I pay the other 40%. He buys me dinner, ice cream, etc. quite often. He'll surprise me with flowers or some other silly little gift from time to time. He does most of the driving when we go places and he always gives me a ride when I have car trouble. He's taken less money for the rent during months when I've had to make major repairs to my car. He rubs my back and shows lots of affection often.

So there definitely are some guys out there who will show their girl appreciation and it's not just because of looks. I'm average to maybe a bit above average looking so I know it's not cause of my looks. I do treat him really well too so I think that has a lot to do with why he treats me as well as he does, because he knows he's appreciated too :)

I think my boyfriend and I spoil each other, but in different ways. Mind you, we don't live together, but I cook and clean for him (not his roommates) and I go shopping for him. I guess in turn, he does little things for me.

I guess one example is, he's a gentleman. I know it doesn't mean much, but he opens and holds the door open for me. But to me it's sweet and romantic.

Another example would be is that he knows I love the cinnamon rolls from Whole Foods so he'll bring me a cinnamon roll when he goes there

I mean, he's also respectful and whatnot, but I'd expect him to be.

And it helps that he's good in bed...tmi.

My boyfriend is most definitely like that, and I make sure to try to spoil him as well.

He tells me how much he loves me, how gorgeous I am, how lucky he is on a daily basis. He always tells me how happy he is with me, and it makes me feel really good.

On my birthday, he bought me a custom engraved necklace that says "Forever and Always", along with a custom engraved jewelry box.

I constantly have to tell him no, because he will literally buy ANYTHING for me. We'll be at a store, I see earrings and say "oh those are cute" and he goes "I'll buy them!" I'm like "NOOO". Haha.

There are guys like that. :)

Honestly, I've always considered myself below average. I am overweight, curvy, young looking for my age, and just..blah. But my boyfriend tells me everyday how gorgeous I am and how much he loves my curves. So...no. No need to be amazing looking. :) You simply find someone you share a mutual bond with.

I am a lot less inclined to "spoil" girlfriends with today's attitudes of what is important in a partner and relationship. We live in a society of entitled women that 'deserve' the best and will obtain it at any cost. It's tough to know someones intentions of you when they show interest, because majority of my friends are used by women for everything under the sun all the time. Maybe if I actually dated someone who wanted me for me, wasn't interested in jumping ship when someone with a jawline comes along, and she can prove she isn't shallow, then I will spoil (in moderation) because you can't constantly do it or she'll just expect it.

I've been that guy before. You know... holiday every month, sometimes flying her across country or overseas, fine dining, presents... etc, etc...

I don't think I'll do it again, not for a long time.

The thing is, as much as I get a lot of pleasure doing it, girls today have a tendency to take this stuff for granted, and not show any appreciation for it. Worse yet, there is a good chance that they'll become complacent with themselves and with the relationship, and it all just goes downhill from there.

In the end, it's just not worth it.

I use to, but the problem with spoiling a girl is she gets spoiled. Eventually they stop appreciating it and start expecting it. Almost like you are a lowly creature giving tribute to a goddess. It sounds like you are having a similar problem with guys. I wish I could find a girl that would spoil as much as I spoil her, but romantic girls like that are a lot harder to find than you would think. Most of them are either married or have been hurt so bad by ungrateful guys, that they now treat guys like dirt. I have actually learned not to treat women as well as I would prefer. It is a pity. because I really do enjoy doing things for my girl.

Can't you just treat girls well and then break up with them if they turned out to be a spoiled bitch? It's not fair to punish the girls who would show you appreciation in return, that just discourages them from doing nice things too.

I never said I punish them. I just don't spoil them. You can take a good girl are ruin her by treating her better than she deserves. If they want me to treat them better then they need to earn it. Never treat anyone better than they treat you, or they will start to take advantage of you.

But then again I think I'm being spoiled when he gives me a can of Arnold Palmer from his garage when I go to his house so...lol.

The rest of the year he treats me well anyway. He's a good guy and I don't need to be lavished with gifts to see that.

There are. I know what it's like to be a giver and run into guys/people who only want to take, so I get where you're coming from. I'm sure you'll find him, just don't continue to spoil a guy who doesn't return your efforts or show any appreciation. It should be a two-way street.

Yes there are plenty of guys who probably do that. If somebody does something nice for me it isn't like I won't do it in return. I was raised better than that. If somebody isn't returning the favor then stop making the effort.

I used to treat my ex girlfriend like that and after awhile she came to expect it from me. I remember it got so bad that she would get angry if I didn't buy her whatever it was she wanted at the time. Just like a fucking 6 year old kid. I tried to bury my head in the sand about it for awhile but I got tired of feeling like a talking wallet and dumped her.
