If you lacked confidence, would that make a guy think he's too good for you?

I've never been in a relationship; the guys I liked never liked me back. But recently I was hit with a startling impression that the men I liked might have thought they were too good for me... It was during lunch when I was at school sitting with my friend and a guy I was crushing on. My friend tells me he'll set me up with a nice boy, and my crush just sits there silently.

What aspects about a girl would compel a guy to think she was not in his league?

Possibly he thinks he's deserving or entitled to a gal more attractive than yourself even if he is just as attractive as you or less attractive than you. Studies show that guys tend to overestimate their own attractiveness and if offline dating is similar to online dating it seems most pursue the top percentage of the most attractive gals ( blog.okcupid.com/.../ ).

Egh I find guys generally only use leagues to rate gals not for themselves since when it comes to pursuing gals suddenly leagues don't exist when he wants a gal (much) more attractive than himself. Either way the answer is most likely looks would compel a guy to think he's too good for you as I find most guys while willing to f*ck average and below average tend to seek and pursue above average no matter their own looks.

Egh to me that's not really an example of a guy thinking he's too good for you. Perhaps you're projecting this notion?

If you really want someone like that, you should work your way to their calibre.

1. immature and low self esteem
2. clingyness
3. insecure and can't trust things to happen as they are

Make sure you list your good points too and as well as being honest with yourself about your bad points.

If a woman is too shy then it can be mistaken as disinterest in the guy, or sometimes even that the woman hates the guy. So she needs SOME confidence, but confidence alone isn't that big of deal.

Most guys find average women attractive. Most women do not find the average guy attractive. Research has shown that on average women consider 80% of men below average. As a result women get hit on all the time. Even if it is by guys the woman doesn't like it still feeds their ego. Whereas men typically face rejection as they hit on women. As a result women tend to over value themselves, and consider men that are on their same level beneath them, more often than guys do. The men that are in the top 20% of guys have so many options for partners they become extremely picky.

I think it is a good thing you are starting to become aware that your standards might be too high. Most women I have talked to won't even consider that possibility.

In that study despite most gals finding 80% of the guys below average they still sent messages to a varying array of them.

While 2/3 of guys sent messages to 1/3 of the most attractive gals.

Girls will tell you that it's about your confidence. That's bullshit. We don't give a fuck about your confidence. Or your education, or how much money you make, or what your "potential" is.

Looks- You don't have it. Maybe it's acne, your big nose, your extra 10 pounds, etc. I'm not saying this describes you, I'm just giving examples. It could also be something about your personality that he caught and that he wants nothing to do with. I saw a girl kinda mistreat her mom and her hotness level dropped 70%.

girls need to learn to make moves and ask guys out they want, and you dont need to be in a relationship before to know what you want or expect, and every aspect compels a guy to think girls are out of his league cause girls never show interests or tell a guy she's interested etc not everything is the guys job, its really the girls job, since guys are rejected and ignored by girls, so we can't do anything
