First of all it needs to be said that there are two different ways to approach this; from the definitional perspective and from the philosophical perspective. 'Stoicism' has two different meanings; it is both a way of life, a philosophy, and it has a common understanding that is used in everyday speech by ordinary folk, without reference to any famous Stoics like Marcus Aurelius.

It's the common understanding that I have in mind here, not the ancient philosophy. People think of Stoicism as a suppression of feeling, of neglecting one's mental and physical health, working oneself to death, and trying to "lift oneself up by the bootstraps" (which is, of course, an impossibility).

I know I will NOT go back to my ex yet he said that the only reason he wanted to have sex with me was b/c he loved me. I thought men don't consider having sex when in love. Especially early on so what he said confused me b/c I was always taught that if a man loves you he won't have sex with you. I know he will think about it but may not wan't you to think that that is all he wants. He will wait as long as it takes even until marriage and definitely won't do anything sexual early on. But he said basically the opposite. So is there any truth to what my ex said or all lies. Only men that were or are in love answer please.

So I’ve had a secret crush on this guy at work for 2 years. He was 46 and I was 25. I thought to myself to keep the little crush to myself and it would go away but 2 years later the crush is still there. He’s single by the way and we get along well. I noticed that he acted more paternal towards me when I was 25. Now I’m 27 he treats me as though I’m more mature and doesn’t act paternal anymore. Does being 27 make that much difference?

Too many men are hypocrites who project their insecurities on to women. Like with the “being alone” crap. THEY are the ones who are less happy when single/alone. And THEY are the ones aging like milk BALDING before 21.

So they confessed that you not liking them back was giving them suicidal thoughts. Would you just try to comfort them, or would you immediately tell your boss, because you're worried about her getting you in trouble? Would you still proceed to tell your boss even if she begged you not to, and that she would go and get help, etc?

Three months ago, I hired a lawyer for my partner’s case in court and he was great.. we have achieved an amazing outcome
He has great communication skills as he always checks up on us

Then few weeks ago, my brother needed a lawyer for his case so I told him to hire my lawyer
And my brother was also happy with his results

So my lawyer messaged me saying thank you for referring him to my brother etc

Then I think.. he started to flirt with me

Even when dating a great girl who loves sex, they drool over women online they will never get.
