Well I'm a red head, so not much melanin in my skin, I burn to a crisp if I don't use a high factor sunscreen. So thank god for fake tan :)
I still would not want to be extremely dark. Dark and when I mean DARK people... they still get treated like second-class citizens.
I'm white and I don't burn from being outside all the time. My skin just stays dark due to it making melanin on it's own, but I recently started wearing long sleeves and a big hat just to keep the sun off me.
So basically white people only burn if they don't spend very much time outside.
Or if they don't put stuff on. I burn but if i put sun screen on i just get a bit of color
"White people only burn if they don't spend much time in the Sun" - unsupported generalisation. It sounds like you have the kind of white skin that tans - good for you. However, a tan is still a sign of UV induced sun damage. There's nothing healthy about tanning. It's a recipe for premature wrinkles and possibly skin cancer.

I know! I'm 17 and white and my complexion is frankly pretty terrible (peely, acne, etc.). Then I see black people in their 70s, 80s, 90s and they have nary a wrinkle.
Black people get acne, trust me! Plus when we get scars, our body produces extra melanin so the scars are even more visible and hard to get rid of.
It's not so much the acne as the peely-ness. It's just amazing how young white people can have such awful skin and old black people can have such flawless skin.
It would be just as funny to see a post like this from white people... All non whites would have a rally and shit. :D

You seem offended. But what I'm saying is that white skin and pale skin are represented everywhere while people of a darker complexion aren't so this take is promoting black beauty and the benefits of melanin. I don't mind talking to you about it in the message section.

The take owner never insulted or said anything negative about white or lightskin people she was just stating the benefits of being melanin rich and even added disadvantages as well. I think it's wrong that @princessmethteeth that your calling her a racist when she clearly isn't she's even said that she believes that white and pale skin people ARE attractive. Not only that but the reason it would be a "warzone" is because white and light skin people ARE represented everywhere. They are considered the most beautiful and even in certain countries it's a status symbol of wealth. In fact if you google image perfect skin the majority of the images is white and light skin people further promoting that white skin is the right skin. Poc have almost always been put down for there skin color for more than a decade. I enjoyed the take and it was nice reading about other people's advantages and beauty as well in a world where the opposite is most prevalent.

in my opinion i don't think white's tan to be brown or dark skin. I think they tan to be a little darker than what they actually are. I don't think white skin is the prettiest either i think all people of all shades can be very beautiful it's just that brown and dark skin get the least credit.
