Skin Care Tips that Helped Me

I've been on this planet a good 15 years. And I've had acne for about 4 years of it. So yeah, I'd like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable on the topic.Though I am not a skin care professional, I can at least tell you what has worked for me.

Skincare differs between people, some have dry skin while others oily. Some of these methods may not work for you because of that issue. Trying to find the right solution can be pretty tricky. Years upon years buying products and creams. And you still have pimples on the daily. It sucks.

But there's a science to it. Like most everything. There are reasons your skin is like this.

The hair follicles, or pores, in your skin contain sebaceous glands (also called oil glands). The glands make sebum, which is an oil that lubricates your hair and skin. The sebaceous glands make the right amount of sebum. But as the body begins to mature and develop, hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to make more sebum. And sometimes, too much.

Pores become clogged if there are too much sebum and too many dead skin cells. Bacteria can then get trapped inside the pores and multiply. This causes acne.

Your skin is made to adapt and fight off toxins. So after a week of applying the same acne treatment, your skin will probably know how to fight it off. And then your product will be useless. Which sucks even more.

And overusing face washes and masks can sometimes make it worse. Things like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or sulphur can dry out your skin, causing it to produce more oil and you know what that means. Acne. Your skin will not get better by pouring product all over it, no matter how hard you try.

My next advice would be, stop picking at your acne. It's not helping, that I can guarantee you. When you pop your pimples it can scar (making it last longer) and push bacteria deeper and further into your skin. Yeah, not good. At all costs, resist the urge to pop it. This will only increase redness and make more pimples.

Drink lots of water. Water will clear your system of toxins. And help clear up your skin as well. If you have really dry skin this can help moisturize your skin and take away blemishes. Just don't drink too much, it will make you feel bloated. And if you drink enough, it could kill you. It takes about 6 liters of water to kill a 165-pound person. So I wouldn't push it.

Tea. Tea helps acne considerably because it's water with more healthy benefits. Green tea reduces sebum production, gets rid of oiliness and protects against acne-causing bacteria. Green tea can also help improve brain function, fat loss, a lower risk of cancer and many other incredible things. There's no doubt that it's good for you.

Eat healthy! Eating junk food and sugar will only make your skin oiler and upset your body. I can't really tell you what to do, this is a decision you have to make on your own. And I don't expect you to walk away from this article eating healthy, I just encourage it. This took away at least half my acne and made me feel so much better.

Don't use all the products you see on tv, I went through years of trying different creams all through puberty and none of it really worked. That or I had an allergic reaction to it. Try a simple mud mask. It most likely won't have any chemicals in it and is least likely to give you an allergic reaction. Mud masks have great absorption properties. As they dry on the face, they absorb and suck up dirt and oil that may have gathered in small cellular crevices throughout the day.

Wash your face in the morning and right before bed, just using water. Using warm water first (opening up your pores) and then using cold water (closing them).

If any of these things work for you, write them in the comments below. And if you have anything to add, say it! The more help the better

.

Sincerely, Daylow.
