If you are into healthy foods and fitness, you've probably heard to stay away from GMOs. But you are missing out on some key information
First off, GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are talking about foods that are grown from seeds that have been modified. Yes, not natural. However, before you get upset, I'm gonna tell you why this is good. Up until this point, all fruits/veggies that you buy have been sprayed by extremely poisonous chemicals to keep out weeds and bugs. This is then washed off and safe for the most part, which is why we've done this for so long. Organic food is not sprayed by these, but is harvested along with weeds and bugs. Edible, but not as perfect as you think. Milk is even worse ππ¨ but back to GMOs. GMO seeds are made sort of how we breed dogs into hybrids. The seeds are given properties of other plants to:
1. Change it's smell that bugs use to find and eat it. Keeping it bug free without poison. And:
2. Makes it round up resistant. Round up kills weeds (and usually our food) but is harmless enough to drink. Much safer than any chemical currently used on the food we eat.
GMO food is also cheaper to grow. poisonous chemicals cost money to spray on your food. So before you get scared of hearing those cursed GMO foods, it's actually a great technological advancement that keeps our food cheaper and cleaner.

Spot on, and besides: most people have eaten hybrid corn, seedless watermelon, seen hybrid roses that you can actually get a patent on, have eaten certain citrus crosses, tangelos and nectarines Even hybrid grape varieties are sometimes used in winemaking, etc. THOSE were the first wave of genetically modified plants, and many have been lifesavers for not only the consumer but the farmer, such as VFN tomatoes (hybridized to be immune to certain pests). Those against GMO food make up this scary sci-fi scenario where all of a sudden the tomatoes turn into Venus flytraps or the modified gene becomes imbedded into a fly, breed a lot, reach critical mass and over-run NYC and chaos ensues! LMAO!
Oh, and while I'm at it I should remind those people who think GMO genes CAN get imbedded into a fly, etc., remember, IF that is possible, that could ALREADY be happening with NATURAL plants.
Exactly! I love everything you just said π
+1 yourself!
Maybe I'll try it 😘
Glad you've got an open mind on it βΊοΈπ
Yes I try to be a open minded girl π
That's cool. Not many people like that these days. Good for you π
